If you recognize the state's ability to influence the market as a problem, why do you want greater power in the hands of the state?

Not to mention, support the guy who idolizes the governments of the USSR, Cuba, and Venezuela.

The ideas he holds are completely opposing each other.

because we tried it the first way already and it didn't work tbh

we tried to let the market dictate the rates and look what it got us.

by your logic, why have public schools or roads or anything for that matter? some of us just don't believe profit should be the sole factor in helping the sick and the unwell

But we aren’t letting the markets dictate cost.

For example, college was much cheaper BEFORE the government involved itself in student loans.

The market was working.

You are pushing for more of the system that screwed it up in the first place.

We did. It worked pretty well, in fact. It was the lobbying of the AMA in the 1910's that effectively shut down a good chunk of hospitals in this country, and established a cartelization of the medical industry.

So, you are willing to support the candidate who wants to massively expand the system that has increased costs in every industry it has involved itself in, solely to get rid of lobbying?

And I don’t disagree with you in regards to lobbying.

I have other unrealistic changes that I want, such as having access to the financial records of every single elected official and the banning of all government workers from voting, but I’m not going to give up massively in all other areas in order to obtain one political point.

There would be little to no lobbying if there was not state power to purchase and influence. You are trying to treat a symptom rather than the disease.

The candidate that wants to consolidate power to the point that it renders lobbying useless because they will be able to control whatever they want anyways.

You do realize there is another way of diminishing the power lobbyists have, right?

How do you end lobbying?

The SPCA and teachers unions would be shut out, too. Or just the “big, bad” lobbyists?

Hopefully his support of Castro will kill his chances in Florida. The Cubans that fled hate Castro.

No one, to my knowledge. Does a lack thereof require you to vote for someone who advocates for the literal opposite?
