Bad news. No it won’t.
Federal student loans aren’t passed on to anyone. If you die, your debt is fully forgiven.

Millennial here. College dropout. Racked up 30k in debt and didnt get a degree.

Joined the Navy, started paying back the debt that I incurred myself . Worked a second job nights and weekends to get ahead and chip away at that debt.

Been in 10 years now. Anyone who says they cant pull themselves up by the bootstraps (disregarding disabilities that prevent work) is just plain lazy.

I see rich folks, I know I'll probably never be wealthy like that. Some folks inherited it, some worked for it. That's life, some got dealt a better hand, some worked their asses off for it. But I'll be damned if someone takes their money and distributes it to others who made bad choices, or aren't willing to work their arse off for it.

MAGA 2020 bitches

Did you come from a broken home ?

I was taught personal responsibility.

The biggest difference I've seen between a far-left person and a far-right is whom you want to pay more taxes. The left wants rich peeps to pay more (or even at least the same percentage as the middle class!) and the right wants poor people to pay more.

I don't want anybody to pay more taxes. I think we should cut government spending and adopt Rand Paul's penny plan.

Rich people pay more, both as a percentage and in total dollars, in Federal taxes. You’ve been lied to and you’re stupid enough to believe it.

The problem with millennials is that they refuse to humble themselves and admit that they don’t know shite. I’m not talking about a thirty year old. I’m talking about a 24 year old kid that is pissed off because he doesn’t have a position in supervision or make top money and have the position of a forty or fifty year old that has been in the industry for 20-30 years. They downplay just how important experience, and just the basic wisdom that comes from having some age, is to employers. They get pissy and come up with derogatory words like “boomer” to anyone over 40 because someone won’t trust a 50,000 dollar a day job to someone with the maturity level of someone that lives in a Frat house. I see it every day. Once they get married and have a few kids, get in their thirties and actually get some real life experience, they stop with the school yard insults and realize that the whole world doesn’t revolve around them, they aren’t special and nobody gives a frick about their feelings. It’s the 24 year old that wants the 50 year old’s job that is a Bernie boy.

Ad sales, specifically. Major linear-legacy publisher. Work in lovely Times Square (it's not lovely. At all. But it's an easy spot to get to via public transit).

What do you want to know, stranger? Shook, huh? Foundation took a hit today?

Not at all. You’re either what you say you are and you’re a hypocrite. Or you’re a liar.

I don’t have an internal conflict like that.

Not sure why that matters. I was an 80s latchkey kid. I turned out to be a productive citizen.

Correct.

Student loan debt forgiveness is going to happen sooner or later. The Overton window has moved on that and there’s is too much receptiveness to it amongst the general public and denying that is denying reality.

The only question is if it happens on the radical communist term where they get everything and we get nothing, or we can deal with the establishment democrats and moderate republicans and get a fair compromise out of it.

What do you do, in terms of labor or monetary contribution, to help those you feel are given a poor shake?

Do you feel like a blood-sucking charlatan for helping Madison Avenue figs dupe the average consumer in to buying their useless trinkets? Is your political support for Bernie an attempt at alleviating your guilt in such a useless industry?

You know why the 2 bed 1 bath home is no longer being built? It is because most people in this country do not want to start with a 900 Square Foot "starter", they want to jump straight to a 2,800 sqft 4 bedroom, 3 bath home to start with...

If someone is paying rent at the cost of a mortgage note, then maybe they need to re-evaluate where they are currently living and the lifestyle they think they need...

This is the most delusional bullshite I've ever heard. Of course they want starter homes. They are impossible to find because people with extra money recognize buying them up and renting them out is extremely easy money. What part of the country with jobs can you move to to escape people trying to exploit others in the real estate market? Pretending that problems YOU directly cause are fake and telling everyone to just suck it up is how this country is going to get a commie president. I hate to break it to you but things are going to get a lot worse for landlords in this country very soon no matter who is the president because the level of bullshite we have now isn't sustainable.

No they aren't. You have your generations mixed up again. Millennials aren't as young as you think they are.

Consider me selfish. Very selfish.

I have no desire to be forced into charity, especially for a group of people that, a good portion at least, make VERY poor choices to become "less fortunate".

I manage many of them. I live it daily. I see the extreme waste. My wife works in the gov assistance arena.

I'm versed in the so called "needy". It turns out it's a much smaller group of people than you believe it to be.

I say this every day about baby boomers.

The inability of baby boomers to adapt to technology (or even adopt it) is so infuriating and makes everyone around them less efficient.

I'm 35 and spent at least 20% of my day helping boomers with their email, excel, etc... Most of you guys can't even figure out how to print in landscape and it's mind-numbingly annoying.

And boomers are some of the least humble people I know. You think your age automatically means you are smarter than everyone else in the room when that couldn't be farther from the truth.
