Yeah, I'm burned out now. Next week is going to be a disaster with everything the Dems fling. I just hope the FBI or some oppo research unravels this fraud.

What the Dems wanted was for it to not be brought to the floor so that when the FBI stuff came back, it would still take three more days.

They (the Rs) moved on with the rest of the procedural stuff and thus started the clock on the 3 day wait period before a full vote could happen.
That way they can vote any time after the 3 day period, even IF the FBI hasn't completed an investigation. It was a smart move that the Dems didn't want.
And just because a new supreme court session begins on the 1st DOES NOT mean that Kavanaugh cannot be confirmed after that date, its just customary that he does not jump into any judgements they are currently making at the time. Its not a rule even, and does not prevent him from being confirmed in any way.

I believe Trump is working behind the scenes with Mitch and the fbi on this.
My guess is he told Mitch to stick to schedule, he will ask fbi to do investigation, and fbi assured Trump they’ll be done by early next week.
This will look great for the GOP with independents and cause Dems to expose themselves further.
