Who has said anything about him being a model citizen? Why even bring up model citizenry if not to assert that maybe he did sort of deserve to die?
"Deserving to die" and performing actions leading to your death are two different things.

If none of his history matters why did reporters tell us about his past including playing LB on his HS football team. That has no relevance to him being killed that day.
Because the media reporting is driven by a racial narrative, just like the defense of the McMichaels on this board is (albeit reversed).
Some in our society want to push the narrative that whites are “hunting” blacks, and others are glad when any black person with hint of prior criminality is removed from the population.

What things should the McMichaels have done differently?

Wtf knows but frankly, it is bullshite the the Brunswick PD is releasing this video to try to make him look bad, its too late, gig is up. Brunswick PD unleashed the McDumbasses and they committed murder, which Brunswick and the DAs promptly covered up.
Time to burn it down
Yeah, the whole thing about police patrolling and investigating people hanging out in areas known to have high levels of crime is a tricky thing.
Some people and residents want police to do this for reducing the criminal element in their neighborhoods but it does seem against our rights.
It's an interesting issue.

I'm not sure that it does require actual pointing of the firearm. Other than the "deadly weapon" element, you're looking at "reasonable apprehension" and "immediately receiving violent injury". The last element there is the tricky one in this situation, but I think the prosecution could satisfy all elements even without a "pointing".
The way that could be argued is that the coupling of a drawn firearm with commands to stop/surrender is enough to lead a reasonable person to believe that the failure to comply is backed up with the immediate threat of deadly force.

Have you seen the video of when he left the house under construction?
He runs like he's seen a ghost.
That doesn't make sense even if he was up to no good.
Was this guy mentally disabled?

Some of us are glad when repeat criminals of any skin color are removed from the population.

Yes. He does run out of the house at a pace I would not assume is for exercise.

When those idiot fricktards in Nevada and Oregon refuse to cooperate with the government and "occupy" federal facilities for weeks/months at a time, why they're the greatest! Freedom fighters!
But one man in one rural southern county pushes back against comply or die and he's a terrible person for even attempting to assert his rights and his innocence.
What the hell kind of comparison is this?

That’s how I feel about the McMichaels. They shot a guy they chased and then lied to police.

If it turns out they sat around the trailer and just wanted to kill a random black guy, I'm right there with you.

You’re right, it doesn’t
Which is why I said that

Sure, but mountains of data from years on this board conclusively reveals there are a group of posters who take specific issue when it’s a black person being discussed.
And moreover, there’s a big distinction between “he got what he deserved” (he didn’t) and “they didn’t commit a crime by killing him”. The latter is not explained simply by being glad someone with a criminal record is dead.
Posted on 5/19/20 at 9:24 am to Roger Klarvin
Well I'll be, sure did. I read it wrong. Then I say it's an unimpeachable certainty.

So you think people who got caught by police with half a joint and a legally bought handgun in their car deserve to die.
okay then
