Are you really suggesting a white Republican has a realistic shot at getting elected Mayor-President? Or are you just trying to virtue-signal that you would never vote for a Dem?

Yes. Why would one not have a chance? Sid Edwards run has tons of issues, one being his late start. The parish is the parish. It doesn’t change demographics come mayor election time.

I’m not even sure what your second question means or is getting at. I have voted for democrats in the past. I am not a registered republican any longer as I have come to realize they are largely as bad as the democrats. I will admit it being extremely difficult for me to vote for anyone aligned with a party that believes in what the DNC tries to shove down our throats in modern times. I come from a family of old South Dixiecrats. I will leave you with two points and you can still run and support Ted.

1. He is a Biden appointee.
2. I went to law school with him. I have seen his grift in person. Take that for what you want. He is an ideologue and extremely intelligent. He will be much more effective than SWB at executing his agenda.

Pretty shameful the only strongly supported Republican is polling out of the runoff. Trump will win 40+% of the vote in EBR. That means almost half of Trump voters will vote for a Democrat for Mayor. Seems as unlikely as all the US Senate polls showing that but we’ll see.

You can never underestimate just how bad the EBR GOP/LA GOP are. They will remind you every election.

During this cycle? Absolutely. You will have higher voter turnout FOR Trump and increase down ballot voting for Republicans. The problem with this town is not that there aren't enough Republican voters, it's that the turnout is abysmal.

The weak arse repubs voting for James is sad. "But, we might not win so vote for James". Stop being losers and stop voting for the exact same Democrat machine that hats you. Broome is abysmal, but i'm not swapping that for a fricking Harris bro in James. Vote for Edwards. If you can't do that because you are too weak willed, then stop voting.

I don’t like Ted James, but Sid has no plan and no clue. He knows absolutely nothing about government and his “team” (if you can even call it that) has even less knowledge of local government issues.

Broome: bad plan, zero competence

James: bad plan, competent

Edwards: no plan, unknown competence

The good thing is, if you are white, Ted doesn't like you either.

Thankfully, because I wasn’t raised to be a racist, I don’t.

Can’t say the same for you. Trash is gonna trash and it knows no color. Which is part of the reason you’ll never rise above lower middle class in your life.

Make sure you keep thinking that way and I’m sure it will help you really excel in life.

This is what I’m still debating. Who has the best chance to win a runoff.

It doesn’t really matter. Broome or James wins the runoff and the city continues to slide into unrecoverable disaster.

Make an exit strategy and be ready to execute it.

Much like New Orleans, the state GOP has abandoned the EBR President/Mayor race because it is an unwinable mess.

They put money into other areas and into house/Senate races.

can you think of a place on earth where blacks have created a safe and well organized community? Detroit? Nairobi? Chicago? Johannesburg?

its not fun to be racist, but if you have any familitary with crime and quality of life stats and metrics, you are gonna have to to accept some facts.

realize EBR is 50 / 50, black and white right? Too many people of color for you?

some areas are, yes. very very violent. reality is what it is.

And this is how we end up with Sharon Weston Broome for another 4 years.

I’m really not sure that is a worse option than James.

Both are extremely liberal and support city-killing policies. But Broome is a buffoon so her ability to actually execute anything is pretty low. James is radical but not dumb and my concern is he would be much more effective in pushing those policies to fruition.

The poll is irrelevant.

A Dem will win, and Baton Rouge will continue to decline.

Yeah, I’m still taking the guy who is genuinely a good person with heart of gold even if he has no plan.

Sid could sit at his desk and stare at the wall for the next four years and we’d still be better off than with Broome or James.

It isn't racist to look at the demographic shift and see the correlation...it's ignorant to say that it's not the majority of the problem.

I’ve met James a couple of times. He’ll be better than SWB. I think he wins. Sid can’t win and isn’t qualified. If Steve Carter couldn’t win Sid has no chance.

I think getting Sid to a run off is the big picture. I don't trust the polls showing he is that far behind James and Broome. That he is behind yes, but I think the margin is much less than the local media wants to admit. Pretty much all local media, like the national media are a bunch of lefties but Broome has burned so many of the local politicians they want to burn her at the stake which is why Ted James has been allowed to gain such prominence. If Republicans have a good showing we can get Sid to a run off. Then it will be possible to focus resources more effectively.
