would think you need to drop a few zero's from that, more than likely in the 50 grand range.
250 million dollar lawsuit settled for 50 grand?
Um. No.

Tell us what you know about alleging damages in a federal complaint

I know neither of us is privy to the settlement details, lol.

Sandmann has filed lawsuits against other media outlets that covered the encounter.
"The fight isn’t over. 2 down. 6 to go," Sandmann tweeted Friday, referring to amount of media companies he has sued.
He also signaled at potential litigation against Twitter, the platform where the viral video was predominantly shared.
"Don’t hold your breath @jack," he tweeted, tagging Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

Sandmann's lawyer said that they agrees to settle with the WashPo for a lesser amount (assuming CNN) because the Washington Post was quick and thorough in their follow up coverage of the event.

I don't remember shite from civil procedure or federal procedure, but I do know no lawyer was settling that case for $50k

I knew he got kind of hosed but had no idea about that massive lawsuit.
You’d never see me again. I’d put it in trust and invest it to protect against inflation and give myself a monthly stipend and live the fricking life the rest of my days.
Or a pretty lowball notion of what constitutes "living the good life."
The lawsuits were a PR stunt. In legal terms, it is called "nuisance value." He MIGHT have gotten a couple hundred thousand from the two settlements combined ... but I doubt it.

I know I’ve settled hundred of lawsuits from both positions of strength and weakness. Have you?

You are privy to the settlement details in this case? No, you aren't and neither am I.

Um. No.
This character thinks that inflated allegations in a pleading MEAN something.
Good Lord.
Posted on 7/24/20 at 1:48 pm to DeusVultMachina
Because you think allegations in a complaint regarding damages are somehow tied to the merits of the case and ultimate settlement value
Posted on 7/24/20 at 1:49 pm to boosiebadazz
You know the settlement details?
Nope. And neither do I.

The applicable law is well-settled.
Any competent lawyer can give you a range of the settlement values.
Three lawyers have opined in this thread. I am at the high end in saying that the two settlements combined MIGHT be a couple hundred thousand (probably less).
But a bunch of ideological zealots with stars in their eyes think the claims are worth tens of millions.
You have proven (again and again) that you will NEVER listen to people with more knowledge, training, education or experience. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, but I'd rather hear from a couldn't-hack-it cattle rancher like you.

I'm not a lawyer. You don't know who I am or really anything at all about my education or profession.
Lol.

And yet strangely, you and he really wish to chest thump irrelevant personal details.
I think that internet-unwise, personally.

I’m surprised y’all would celebrate a litigious bitch like this. Kid is whiney AF.
