I would think you need to drop a few zero's from that, more than likely in the 50 grand range.

Please...attorneys know how much money the other side has and they know how to get a decent settlement in a situation like that.

Did anyone note that the kid settled the lawsuit immediately after he turned 18yo.

IMO, SOMEONE (parent?) was dragging out the lawsuit in hopes of (a) an unrealistic return or (b) political gain.

As soon as the kid turned 18, he settled on his own.

I should probably qualify this with the fact I am no longer allowed to practice law like Liberal Hank.

The rumor at the most recent Right to Life March among students was that Settlement with CNN was a little over 8 million. Sandmann received around 5 million.

I realize that is really nothing more than speculation. But it is what people close to the situation claimed.

No idea what WaPo settled for.

That's putting it lightly. He could be sitting on a half billion dollars right now.

Just think when it's all said and done, he could be a billionaire.

I never cease to be entertained by the forum consensus that an objective analysis of the facts and the law constitutes "pulling for" one side or the other.

Laymen see the occasional crazy settlement amount or jury verdict, and form a belief that they are the norm.

They aren't, not outside the shithole that is Louisiana.

You must've had lots of 250 mill suits back when you were a big timer, rather than a backwater cattle rancher with a bum thumb.

How much were your settlements for in those cases? Surely you would share this info, since you claim that we are all conjecturing yet you somehow are not.....
