It's also interesting that they have the same issues as the US.
The current President legalized gay marriage and adoption.
That caused huge protests.

28.54%, and it's some sort of record?
I guess culture & democracy aren't a good fit.

Josh- will you add a link to TN Bhoy's thread on the French Election rules? LINK
Also, poll closing times, and estimated exit poll ETAs.

That was at noon. Turnout was reported to be near 70% at 5pm. Final turnout is projected at 81%.
This is very high turnout, and, historically, high turnout has been bad for Le Pen's National Front.

I think this election is a last ditch effort for France to reclaim its country. I hate being dramatical about the consequences of electing someone that's going to turn a blind eye to Muslim extremism but here we are. France needs to purge itself of the disease.
Le Pen's entire program is a disaster.

1. France was never great.
2. Come on France do the right thing. Make it Fillon v. Le Pen in the runoff.
3.

The French have announced the results at 8pm sharp (1 pm CST) for the past few elections.

I think the OP should update to make it clear this is just the first round. Nobody is winning the election today unless they get a majority, which is unlikely bc there are so many terrible candidates.

Is Hollande the worst non-dictator ruler in french history?

That's a complete lie
Macron spent majority of his life outside of politics working for Rothchilds he is as establishment as they come.
It's like Jeb Bush would have been tough on immigration.
"He is Rothchilds choice for president"

I don't think Napoleon's approvals were that bad

Le Pen's best chance is that she somehow winds up v. Melenchon in the run-off right.
Le Pen v. Macron is her worst case

Pretty sure his approval rating was comparable to Louis XVI when they cut his head off.
I remember following that election a little bit, and it was so obvious Hollande was going to be a terrible president.
