After speaking to several direct sources, I now feel confident in reporting that an F-15E Strike Eagle with the U.S. Air Force crashed early Wednesday during a strike mission over Southwestern Iran. The cause of the crash is still unknown, though at least one source attributed it to Iranian air defenses, with both the Pilot and Weapon Systems Officer (WSO) able to successfully eject over Iran.
Following the crash, Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) elements with the U.S and Israeli Air Force - on standby in a neighboring country - were activated, entering Iran roughly an hour after the crash of the F-15. In the resulting operation, both crewmembers were found and safely evacuated without further incident, being transported to Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The Pilot and WSO are claimed to suffered minor injuries but were in otherwise “good condition,” with both being airlifted for further treatment to Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
Further confirmation and details of the incident are expected to come at a later time from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

The F-15 is proving to be a very stout aircraft when you consider 4 may have been downed by missiles with 0 fatalities.

More like a reckoning, I guarantee every single one of the Kurdish insurgency has had a relative or immediate family member killed, maimed, tortured, or raped by the IRGC or some other faction of the Iranian regime.

the Iranian government has engaged in severe, decades-long violent repression, mass executions, and military campaigns against Kurdish populations. Thousands of Iranian Kurds were killed.
Post-1979 Repression: Following the Iranian Revolution, the government under Ayatollah Khomeini launched a massive military campaign against Kurdish separatists, with thousands of executions ordered by judiciary officials like Ayatollah Khalkhali.
Ongoing Conflict: Since the revolution, there has been an ongoing conflict between the Iranian central government and Kurdish political movements, with significant peaks in violence in the early 1980s and 1990s.
Casualties: The Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) estimates that over 30,000 civilians and 4,000 fighters were killed during these conflicts, along with the destruction of numerous villages and the imprisonment of tens of thousands.
Targeted Assassinations: Throughout the 1990s, Iran conducted a successful, targeted campaign against KDPI leaders, including the 1989 assassination of its leader.

Eh, the Kurds will be more than willing to fight for their little sliver of northwest Iran. It could work out really well and spur uprisings to spread into other parts of the country but it’s not like the Kurdish army is going to march to Tehran liberating everyone along the way. It’s also possible that the regime and IRGC simply ignore the Kurdish uprising and simply let them have so as not to expose what troops and equipment they have left to Israeli and Israeli air power.
A Kurdish rebellion would certainly be a welcome development but it’s not a silver bullet to ending this war quickly IMO.

Really hard to tell this is going well by looking at main stream news websites. It’s all about what Iran has attacked and the war “spreading” and a nonsensical vote that has zero chance of passing.

That’s specific language. Other countries have f-15s. Maybe it wasn’t shot down. Etc.

Pretty wild how Iran lashes out at all of its neighbors, even Dubai. If anywhere in ME, I thought would be safe in event of war, it would be Dubai.
