Shortsided simpleton. Every time oil crashes and gets "cheap" it leads to a lack of drilling. That lack of drilling then leads to supply shortage and price spikes up the road. The deeper the trough, the higher the peaks in the future. Today's $20 oil will lead to $100+ oil in the future.

Great post. I have always used milk vs gas. You mean it is cheaper to build an oil rig,tow it offshore, anchor it in 1500 feet of water, drill thousands of feet below the ocean floor, pipe line it to a loading station. Transport it to a refinery, refine it in huge crackers an send to gas stations... all that for less money than it takes to milk a cow!!!

My favorite is Starbucks coffee. It's almost $2,000/bbl.

And peple say the oil companies are ripping you off?

Initial investment costs of oil production are high but once it’s pumping it’s not bad. Also economics of volume.

And it costs a pretty good bit to feed and care for a cow that doesn’t produce much volume of what you want
