A friend of mine linked a reddit page talking about this and 98% of the comments is shitting on Gina Carano.
They all site how she compared Republicans to Jews which isn't what she did.
The level of ignorance as well as lack of interest in finding out the whole story is depressing to see.
A lot of comments of "what did she do this time?" "She compared Repubs to holocaust Jews" "oh then frick her then".
Really? Just let some stranger on reddit frame the situation, then form your final opinion without even delving into it yourself?

And herein lies the problem.

We all know that Hollywood is biased against conservatives. We also know they're incredibly hypocritical.
So why do we act surprised when this happens? She was working for people who hate the right, and she knew that. She either wanted to be fired, or didn't care if she was fired, or she was too dumb to see how this would end.

I'm not going to take your posts point by point and refute them, because I generally think it was an attempt to take the focus away form the thread...but, I'll address this point as it pertains to myself and I can write about it with some expertise.
You make the mistake of equating religiosity with political views. This is what largely drew me away from many outspoken atheists. Not because I suddenly believed in theism, but because far too many atheist started drinking their own Kool-Aid and assuming that if you're an atheist you are automatically a leftist. It's no different than when someone on the right assumes all atheists are patchouli smelling hippies with neck beards. One of the very worst things to happen to the atheist movement, despite so many strides made by guys like Hitchens, Harris, et al, was the idiotic "Atheism Plus" movement. It drove a TON of middle of the road and right leaning atheists away from them.
Hell...on this forum alone, based in the deep south, you have a fairly large group of outspoken secular conservatives that routinely pop up in conversations. When we are forced to keep our views silent in public (and I absolutely feel as though I have to do that) it's NOT because of Conservatives, it's because of intolerant religious people of BOTH political leanings. This is not a political issue when it comes to atheism...it's a religious one. You'd be wise to accept that, and stick to your other point (which I happen to think is wrong as well) that lefties in the south are just as afraid to voice their feelings as people on the right are, well...everywhere.

What she said is 100% historical fact. Same propaganda tactics are being used today by the left. They are de-humanizing conservatives through the politicians, media, and entertainment industry, by calling them racists, bigots, and other names. History is definitely repeating itself.

No one seems surprised...just mad that it keeps happening.

Are those the only three? Could it also be that she genuinely believed what she was writing, and like those on the left felt that her writing it cold potentially lead to change she believed in?
I'm not saying she wasn't WILLING to get fired over it. She clearly was. Wanting to get fired over it, despite the fact that she was lined up to be ina spin off show seems unlikely. What that shows me is that unlike many without the courage of their convictions to stand up for what they truly believe in (cough Drew Brees cough) she was and suffered the consequences. What's at issue is are customers of these companies are we going to always sit back and allow them to treat some people more favorably than others without ANY backlash?

Exactly what I did do.
Cancel my disney+
I am all for cancel culture if it's going to be used on their side until we ALL realize it's corrosive and we should all stop, but i'll be damned if i'm not going to cancel them if they're cancelling us and shutting us up.
