That's sounds about as a good idea is selling off and privatizing all the prisons.

How about we get the reason why we need to sell assets in order before we go making one time deals?

Louisiana loves this one time money to fix budget issues thingy

No, that's not analagous at all. And I'm not one particularly in favor of selling all or most federal lands. I'm not big on a lot of the restrictions some want to impose as to their use, though.

Quite a bit of BLM land could be sold off. I'd keep most Fed. Land like it is though.

We could just sell Alaska back to Russia. Got it for what, $8M ? That would be a solid profit if you ask me.

Look at it this way. Log into your bank account and look at how much money you have. And what if, overnight, it becomes worthless? You wouldn't be very happy. This is essentially what happened to Greece.

It also happened here, too. Don't think it can't happen again.

Then why don't the banks just dish out money freely so that citizens can grow businesses and become independently wealthy? If the banks fail, they just get the government to print up more money.

A). How or why does government own land?
B). If government owns land, doesn't it pay taxes on that land like the rest of us? And if so, where does it get that money to pay those taxes and then where does that property tax money go?

It actually leases out a good bit of it as grazing and timber land, for the elites to further enrich themselves on I suppose.

There are a number of reasons, but it wouldn't come close to paying off the debt anyway.

Would you agree with selling half of this land to U. S. Citizens only to pay off the debt?

Would they be free to then sell it to Chinese interests or corporations?

Oh, good, I see all trolling has been cleaned up; it wasn't something personal against me.

No. There would be so many foreign companies buying up American land it would be ridiculous

That's what they thought in 1929 as well. That's also what the Greek and Roman empires thought.

Why is the debt bad? What happens if we don't pay it? It's not like a house that they can just come and take back.

Liberal mentality folks. Keep this in mind during the coming elections.
