Have a downvote.

It isn’t. Your proposal is nonsensical.

Be real specific on how it’s incorrect. Are you denying that those ethnic groups were not already effectively geographically separated within the previous nations? Because they absolutely were.

My guess is the MTG tweet.

It is really odd timing otherwise.

Hate to break it to you but the reason we’ve gotten here is exactly how politics goes. It’s a give and take. Right now the republicans are giving a lot, but as soon as they gain legislative ground, they will proceed to take.

I’m surprised a 2 party system has lasted this long. But to answer your question, the only logical answer would be something external, like a threat to the country. There’s no way for Ds and Rs to find common grounding since we are at such a irreparable impasse. An external threat or something happening to show where we are better together as a country is what’s needed.

It’s unfortunate that we’ve let the country get to this position.

No, I am not. Slovenia had the easiest go of leaving, but they still fought over it.

Croatia having a good time of it is laughable. Are they better off now? Absolutely. But their years long civil war and their quasi involvement in Bosnia is not having a “good time”.

Really specific? Have you traveled in the US at all?

There are areas of the country that are the size of Montenegro and are pretty much 100% homogeneous (even though Montenegro isn’t 100% ethnically homogeneous). Hell, you can multiply that statement X 1000.

In short, your point is grossly incorrect.

FWIW - I’m not in favor of “Balkanization.”

List them. I suppose your right if you want to get super granular and go by political preference and voting precincts Which is, of course nonsensical and impossible.

Except that your idea of homogenous communities within the United States can only result in hundreds of tiny new states.

My comment and comparison with the Central European nations was aimed at lack of homogenous populations at the political subdivision (state) level. We do not have that.

I agree with you, but too many here don’t appreciate the benefits we enjoy as a single nation.

Better to remain a single country and push the 10th amendment than divorce.

I used to think we could solve our issues and live in peace with one another. Not anymore. The left absolutely despises anybody that isn’t also left. There is no give and no compromise with these people. It’s a war of ideology and I’m ready to fight. I don’t want to live with these people anymore.

If the left wants a hot war, I’ll give it to them.

You are banging your head against the wall.

They don't want it to happen so it can't be done.

Both of them must have a bunch of lowlife Democrats in their family.

It would be a huge pain in the arse but it could be done.

If Democrats would leave us alone about handouts, gun laws & mandates we wouldn't need a breakup.

I’m not sure where you are coming up with the Czech Republic being a side effect of WW2

Czechoslovakia effectively was a lost cause after the Munich Pact which led to everything. The Soviet control, Velvet Revolution, Czech Republic. So yes, a side effect of WWII.

Strip the fed of everything but national defense. Leave the heavy lifting to the states. End the National welfare programs. Let the lefties crash and burn without dragging the rest of us down

Perhaps you can offer specific examples as to why rather than making a general and unsupported claim.

Everything about it is a nonstarter. Forced relocation will not work peacefully. Totally untenable.

Any lines drawn will have to be arbitrary, and will lead to violence. It really is that simple.

You’re backtracking a little but still wrong on Slovenia.

You’ve gone from Slovenia didn’t have a good time to they had easiest time but still fought.

No, there was no war in Slovenia. Slovenia overwhelmingly voted to separate in a referendum. Yugoslavia (Serbia) threatened war, massed troops, there was a standoff, but diplomacy succeeded and war was averted.

Regarding Croatia, you’ve gone from they didn’t have a good time to they’re having a good time now but they didn’t have a good time.

True, the Serbs attacked Croatia when they declared independence and the result was Croatia’s independence after thousands of deaths. But Croatia is better off now.

Regarding Czech Republic, Slovakia, Montenegro, I’m glad we’ve settled that these countries did not separate through war.

Lol. You have not the slightest clue of what this thread was about. It’s about avoiding a militarized internal dispute among the states. If you think that’s a good route then I’m sure you wouldn’t last very long.
