Romney's type are withering on the vine and have no hope to exist outside of their shrinking pre Trump political realm. He's the equivalent of Jeb. He can win locally, but his national appeal is dead and gone.

Trump can't be beat from the right, he is far too popular.
This doesn't mean that the never trumpers get a bit of a last shot. They have enough capital to get money to primary trump, or to run a 3rd party campaign. And trump's win was sub 1% in several PA, WI, and MI. It was sub 2% in FL. They might be able to rock the boat in those states with a third party win, or some shots during a primary.

That's the definition of cutting off their nose to spite their face. If they attempt to go all in to primary Trump, it's basically the end of their party

Rand Paul was just on Cavuto speaking truth about Romney. He was asked about Kasich agreeing with Romney and he said he saw Kasich as trying to run third party to take Trump votes away.
