I disagree... only based on NT words emphasizing coming together in worship and actually laying out church hierarchy and responsibility.
Where did Jesus say any of that was required to get into Heaven?
quote:
but I very much believe that Christians are called to always be ready.
That's because you may die at any moment.
The group effort/plight isn't necessary.
quote:
I also don't believe it should be a sincerely dividing issue, just something to discuss and debate.
Well that's a function of authenticity and heresy generally and not the rapture specifically

Of all the things to worry about, the rapture doesn't rank in the top billion.
It is fiction. Might as well worry about Darth Vader and the dark side attacking earth.

The term “rapture” isn’t in the Bible. It’s based on a few interpretations of script.

You're adding meaning to my words that I didn't imply, that's dirty pool.
The thief on the cross is evidence of "what it takes".
The NT puts a lot of emphasis on community worship. I believe every verse of my Bible.

The rapture is a Prot thing.
The Reformed and Augustinian traditions are overwhelmingly amillennial.

He didn’t. He made it pretty simple.

I think BCreed pointed out the words... their usage and interpretation. My Strong's is upstairs so I can't confirm what he posted- how do you refute it?

Nero was the antichrist. Tribulation happened over 1000 years ago

Then you need not concern yourself with this thread. Bye!

None of those refer to the Rapture as you define it. You have carefully chose translations that fit your MO.
Sir, the very term for the words used in the BIBLE is exactly what I posted.
1 Thessalonians 4:
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
That phrase in Latin is "rapiemur" or "rapturo," which comes from the Latin verb rapio or rapturo. English equivalent: "Rapture".
That's easily verifiable. Both the scripture and the Latin word.

Me, too.
Emphasis needs to be emphasised, lol, not a requirement but similar to traditions etc.
Like holiday traditions with family help keep the family bond.

Every Christian politician will still be here so nothing much will change.
I get your point. But the people that voted him in.... won't be.

My question become very important when we're talking about the rapture.
See? You're already doing the group identification thing...likely emphasized to you by various religious groups/

It literally says to not give up meeting together.
Now.. it doesn't say you're going to hell if you stop meeting together- but it clearly instructs corporate worship.

That would not track with what follows the tribulation period.

You're mistaken.
What part of anything did I post that was group identification related?
I've referenced the Bible.

So John wrote about future events that had already happened?

Correct. Just like it lays out the operations of a church.

That's because you may die at any moment.
There will also be a second coming, though our odds of dying seem astronomically higher than being here on earth for that (considering most Christians who have ever lived have died).
Though I do agree it's been an overly emphasized "Get me off of survivor island" Zombie Apocalypse "Beam me up Scotty" thing.
But that doesn't mean it's not going to happen, only that it's one of a number of reasons to be ready.
