Thank you for taking the time to find this!!!!

I’m going to be asking questions as I listen.

He said John preached this, but John didn’t get Christ’s Revelation until roughly 95 AD. 25 years after Jerusalem fell and 27 years after Nero’s reign ended.

His reference to Matthew 16:28. I believe He is talking about His resurrection or even His transfiguration when He was in His Kingdom Glory with Moses and Elijah. Some say Pentecost when The Holy Spirit was given. If you go one verse prior to Matthew 28:27 that’s His return. With the angels and rewards.

I listened to more than 5 min, and I’m not getting into the Israel debate. (Not that you asked to)

I’ve heard the Nero discussion several times and I like to talk about it. It just doesn’t make sense for me with the timeline he gives. The temple had been destroyed. Jerusalem was sacked and Nero was gone a while before John received The Revelation.

Mate I am assuming you are agnostic?

Serious question - have you been through grief or serious existential setback and struggle as an adult?

I get the snark bc I was agnostic / atheist from like 18 until 40 when things were going incredibly well.

I needed Christianity to get through some very dark days. Don't really have the time right now to explain it, but I cant imagine not having belief in my life anymore after I waded through (and still am in some ways) the muck and the mire for 6+ years.

Personally, I think the UAP and Aliens thing will be the world explains the rapture away.

I just don't see how Christianity could survive a logical analysis if we find out about aliens. There's a certain amount of information about life, generally, that can be left out of your foundational religious text.

Something like aliens, within the intricacy that God describes the creation of man and his relationship to man, I think would fall outside of what would be considered acceptably left out of the foundational text of existence.

If it is not Biblical then why did Paul write to the Thessalonians to reassure then that it hasn't happened yet and they did not miss it? A catching of the saints with the Lord is absolutely in the Bible.

You will have to let me go back to the man who mentioned it in bible study. Of the group in our class, I'd say I'm the least knowledgable. Not knocking myself. I'm trying. The facilitator said it is a fairly modern construct. And then he went on to mention how many times an individual has chosen a date for Rapture. But it hasn't happened yet. In one case one of the class members mentioned he worked in a bank with one who believed strongly in it. Again, some person predicted the rapture on a date and the colleague shut the door of his office expecting to be taken up. But it didn't happen, obviously. So this is being used by charlatans or if I'm being kinder, those who've just gotten it wrong. We have no study next week but I will ask the following Tuesday, will bookmark and get back to you. I will cite to him the specific versus mentioned here.

Aliens would in no way disprove a Creator. Why would you think it could??

To summarize what I already wrote: it would mean that something I consider too large to be left out of the Bible was left out of the Bible.

The Bible was supposed to be the foundational text of existence and our special relationship to God. God leaving out aliens who become more advanced than us to the point where they have a better conception of existence than we do, flies in the face of any sort of special relationship between humans and God, let alone create so many questions that it really hurts the suspension of disbelief required for Faith in the text

When the rapture happens, and it will, the Islamic nation will be the least of your worries.

With the advent of AI, it makes more sense. It could be controlling the airways and piloting planes. If all the Christians disappear, no plane crash.

Just one example. To your point, (if there is a catching away of the Holy Spirit presence of God, then that would have to include those people he indwells. Evil on this earth would reign as a consequence, and the Muzzies are most ready to step into that void, in governments throughout the world.

If you want a corollary to the alien thing, just think about one of the silly religions that clearly was just made up to play off Christianity. Christianity. You can pick Islam or Mormonism or any new age cult that adopted Christianity within the philosophy. All of those religions can't be taken seriously because of how clearly fake they are and how it's incompatible with Christianity that all of this information was left out from the Christian Bible on accident.

Perhaps these aliens are angels and demons? Visitation by both being mentioned in both the OT and NT.

Also… God is creator of all, nothing exists he did not create- even aliens, whatever they may be. If they indeed are real.

The aliens are demons/angels stuff is pretty old but the problem within this discussion is that they would just be aliens

Certainly, if we had proof of Angels and demons that would be something different and much more aligned with the actual text of the Bible. Angels and demons weren't left out of the Bible, even though demons weren't really mentioned in that great of detail

The aliens are demons hypothesis means that there are no aliens and what we think are aliens are angels and demons. Actual aliens mean that they come from another planet and solar system and they aren't Divine in nature

They actually are. I can't cite the number but I've come across a few. It's not Exorcist level demon stuff, but there was a guy across the Sea of Galilee and Mary Magdalene. You can argue there is not a lot of detail but truth be told, the stories in the New Testament are short and to the point.

Are you serious? Both are prevalent throughout scripture. Seriously.

The event known as the rapture happened long ago when people were turning in the fellow Christians to be put to death.
