I am optimistic about Eddie Rispone--never been a political, well funded, very successful businessman.

At the end of the day that is what it is all about. They won't listen to calls to cut more spending so all we can hope for is less taxes.
Jindal wasted a bunch of political capital and would be a much bigger player on the national scene today had he took his second term to change the state for the better instead of campaigning for some higher office.

I asked Mike Strain to run but he wouldn't run against Vitter. He missed his opportunity.
Kennedy of the likely possible candidates, IMHO is the only republican that could beat Rispone and his $5 million war chest. I assume Rispone can run a good, effective campaign.

Good. Looks like they’ve learned their lesson.

When Jindal came into office, there was a $1 billion surplus.
When he left, there was a $2 billion deficit, the largest in our state's history. Clearly, Jindal was a disaster.
Sales taxes were the only thing available to raise enough money quickly enough, but they were supposed to be temporary. However, the Republicans could not agree to anything else -- they even disagreed with their own task force.
Some Republicans said they wanted to cut spending instead of having a tax. Ok, fine, what do you want to cut -- they were asked that directly and repeatedly, and could not identify the cuts. Hollow words, that's it. What a surprise.

I bet I can cut half the state budget, if given the power. I would cut the frick out of it and smile, never missing a wink of sleep for it. I would be absolutely hated by illegals and welfare queens that vote for a living. I would be despised by liberal college professors. I would cut and go after every sacred cow of liberals with a passion. And don’t say what about the poor people? frickem, move to Arkansas, I’m cutting the frick out the budget, if given the power, like I said earlier.
