Needs to be reclassified as a schedule 4 alongside benzodiazepines and others at the very least. It has medical benefits.

Funny how this is the same argument the Groomers could use.

Personal liberty isn't the same as anarchy.

Exactly, and since we don't have anybody clamoring for anarchy, everyone posting in this thread wants restrictions on personal liberty. This "if you don't agree with me you don't believe in freedom" stuff is childish garbage, and it leads me to believe they're not capable of arguing for legalized pot on the merits.

And I say that as somebody who wouldn't cross the street to vote for or against it; I just don't care about that particular issue. It wouldn't take much to sway me, but "you don't believe in freedom" isn't an argument.

We should, yes. It will still pale in comparison to the healthcare costs of 100 million + fatties, but it's still worthwhile.

How much does it cost to buy and abused, abandoned, and/or mistreated child's childhood back?

Didn’t they test the surfaces of the bathrooms in England’s parliament building and discovered that the majority of them had traces of cocain?

I think decriminalized weed is one of the few political stances where either side can muster a strong argument. And I don’t believe just saying but muh alcohol is enough. I do think it’s dumb as hell it’s still a schedule 1 because it obviously does have medical benefits but outside of lowering it to 4 it’s just not an issue that will move me either way. Too many other things going on and trying to do it in a 400 page bill is bullshite. Neither side actually wants it to happen.

I don’t get the “there are so many other things going on” argument. The bill was voted upon, it takes the same amount of energy to vote no as it does to vote yes. The bottom line is, Republicans don’t want marijuana to be legal. They criticize Dems for babying people but yet feel the need to tell people they can’t alter their consciousness with a plant.

Thank you for filling in the details. All I know is the societal costs of drug use in Portugal has plummeted over 65%. That is a fantastic number.

Ask a real doctor if it’s good for you and what effects it has on still developing people which would have unfettered access to it if it were legal. I like it, I’ve smoked tons of it but it’s not good for you and shouldn’t be legalized without a medical condition attached to it.

How is personal freedom not an argument you respect? Adults should be able to do what they please barring it doesn’t hurt anyone else. If you believe in telling another adult what they can or cannot do in their own time while not hurting anyone else, you are an authoritarian goon.

Should opioids and barbiturates be openly legalized without a prescription? Should fentanyl?

Why would developing people have “unfettered access” if it were legal? Do they have unfettered access to alcohol? Also, it doesn’t matter what you deem as “good for you.” Plenty of things are not good for you and are legal as breathing.

So should we outlaw smoking and drinking for adults?

Stop deflecting and making straw men. You can’t answer any of the important questions, you just repeat freshman pot head logic and talking points.

Already asked just one obvious and simple one you refused to answer but there are a lot of them and judging by your posts you haven’t considered a single one. You’re one of those people who thinks it’s harmless, a propaganda peddler.

Should people who take drugs be allowed gov't freebies like food, healthcare, and rent? Freebies provided by the taxpayers?

Deflecting to alcohol and cigarettes is not a legitimate position.
