If you truly believe that the termination of an unwanted pregnancy is murder and the heinous sin that your faith tells you it is, why are your churches and pro-life groups not doing more to promote sex education and contraception?

I’m a church goer. But my belief that abortion should be illegal has nothing to do with my religious beliefs. It has to do with common sense beliefs.

If there is a heartbeat and you stop said heartbeat then you just killed something. Simple as that. That heartbeat is life. (IMO)

What is more palatable to you? Someone taking birth control pills or someone having late term or partial birth abortions?

In most schools in America, it is not taught with the exception of abstinence only. This is especially true in the Deep South where, coincidentally, evangelicalism, teenage pregnancies, and abortion rates are highest.

Yeah a lot of pro lifers aren't so pro life when they're put in an uncomfortable position

Odd how that works out

Abortion is used by liberals to keep the black population down. When they talk about “unwanted babies” they mean they don’t want more black babies. The facts of who has abortions and specifically those who get them with the help of govt make this undeniable.
So, “liberals” are trying to reduced the numbers of their own voters by promoting abortion, but are trying ti increase the number of their own voters by promoting illegal immigration.

Sounds like they need to have a meeting and address the fact that they seem to be working at cross purposes

To be honest, I’m not too opinionated about this topic, but this:

abortion is the scourge of America and that babies are being slaughtered.

Almost sounds like you’re celebrating it.. you’re fricking weird

If you truly believe that the termination of an unwanted term pregnancy is not murder and the heinous sin that others claim it is, why are your brethren not doing more to promote Kermit Gosnell's freedom?

If you are truly from California and not your mom's basement in new orleans...why the hell would you come and join this site? Seriously, I am curious what possible connection you could have to LSU and/or Louisiana that would make you come here and create an account then start trolling non-stop.

No it isn't a question. I just found it funny that you called out someone's logic in the process of presenting a textbook fallacy. I'm not engaging substantively in this thread. I've said enough on this topic.

Gee, I wonder what the problem is.

enlighten me

Much of that policy (which started under the Reagan administration) changed in 2009 under Obama. Not coincidentally, teenage and unwanted pregnancies declined between then and 2017:

Teen pregnancy rates have been declining steadily since the Bush1 administration. I guess you are going to credit him?

LINK

A far as Abortions they follow a similar trend in ratio, as well as teen ratio. They experience a surge in sheer numbers in the 90's . . . and then a steady decline since. So I guess Obama's policies during the Clinton and Bush administration were to credit for the decline.

The only surge in pregnancy rates that occurred during the Obama admin was 18-19 year olds. And they declined in 09. But aren't 18 year olds considered adults, really?

Did they not know about condoms at 18?

From your link:

quote:

While the funding announcement, issued Friday by the Department of Health and Human Services, does not exclude programs that provide information about contraception and protected sex, it explicitly encouraged programs that emphasize abstinence or “sexual risk avoidance.”

So Trump is not curtailing programs that teach about safe sex, he is just encouraging them to ALSO emphasize risk avoidance.

Not sure why that would bother you, or the super liberal NYT. But I guess you just have to hate on Trump, because he has that pesky "R" after his name.

quote:

In your near decade and a half of posting here, has no one bothered to call out your dumbass before?
How can you call out facts, son?

I deal in facts. Big picture facts. You are nitpicking to further a partisan talking point. We see your type come and go.

Enjoy your stay, no matter how brief.

quote:

From your own god damn link:

quote:

Currently, the federal government champions the abstinence-only approach, giving around $170 million each year to states and community groups to teach just-say-no sex education. This funding precludes mention of birth control and condoms, unless it’s to emphasize their failure rates. However, critics point out that studies have failed to show that abstinence-only education delays sex or lowers rates of teen pregnancy.

the post you are responding to says the following:

quote:

Hell, the overwhelming majority of conservatives support abstinence and comprehensive sex ed.

Silly boy.

most Christian churches promote abstinence. and, most in fact discourage use of contraceptives in any form.

And, like he alludes, most Christians are indeed conservative or Republican in general.
