As much as it kills me to say, Newsome would beat Vance if the economy stays status quo & we do not have some type of boom like we had prior to the China virus hitting. Do not underestimate him. It doesn’t matter to the Left just how horrible he has run California into the ground & how utterly corrupt he is. He looks good, he talks good, he can debate. The Legacy media will fawn over him & won’t call him out on any of his lies. White women will run to the polls to vote for him. He can easily be our next President. He isn’t doing this new podcast for fun. He is setting up his run for the Presidency. Be concerned.

This is what I was trying to say, but you have put more eloquently.
Newsom is just getting started with his more moderate shift and has plenty of time to get it right before the the national media starts fawning over him.
Newsom running California into the ground is a moot point when it comes to how he will be covered by legacy media and how the average American will view him.

He can absolutely win a national election in 2028. He’s very skilled and the country will be ready for him by then. Getting the D nomination will be the tricky part

He seems like a decent guy if you know nothing about him and hear small sound bites. He will get crushed on national scale commercials and what not for the communist shite politician he is though.

He’s going to make sure that he has as much of the HSR completed as possible no matter the cost.
They have 22 miles completed and 119 under Construction with 1 line being completed by the end 2026. By the time he leaves office he can boast that he completed 141 miles of the 170 mile Central Valley line. Central Valley started building stations this year.
It’s not $33 billion it’s around $109 billion
