So if you were a Lyft driver you wouldn't care that random people who you don't know are getting in and out of your car all day without a mask on.
I drove Uber/Lyft for 8 months and never once thought about my pax wearing a mask. I wouldn’t hesitate to do so again to feed my family. You people are a bunch of gaping vaginas worried about a virus that’s harmless to 99% of the population.

There’s multiple reasons. Most have been touched on in this thread.
The key point is that masks are a visual reminder that Covid is “the new normal.” In their mind, it’s a non-stop commercial for the fact that there’s a pandemic and, by extension, it’s Trump’s fault.
You wanna live your life? You can’t. Covid. Masks.
If you didn’t see people out with masks on, you would think about the virus 80% less of the time.

Imagine living your life like covid is a "thing" anymore than the flu or hepatitis is a thing, then tailoring your entire life around avoiding this one disease with a 99.9% survival rating. By that same logic, you should never get into a vehicle ever again because once you see DOT traffic death reports you'll piss your pants.

I’d like to know what the survival rate is for someone younger than 70, not morbidly obese, reasonably active (even say 1 trip per week to the gym), does not smoke and has no serious health issues.
And what does it tell us that we don’t know this?

The numbers are out there. The media has no interest in them.
The percentage of Covid deaths in people under 65 with no known comorbidities ranged between 0.7% of deaths for people under 65 to 3.6%. In other words, if 1000 people under 65 died from Covid, between 7-36 of those had no known comorbid conditions (depending on location).
In other words, it’s far more dangerous to commute to work than get exposed to Covid as a healthy person under 65.

That would put the IFR for healthy under 65 person in the range of 0.005% (very rough estimate).
That’s my calculation. Not the paper’s.
quote:
The COVID-19 mortality rate in people <65 years old during the period of fatalities from the epidemic was equivalent to the mortality rate from driving between 4 and 82 miles per day for 13 countries and 5 states, and was higher (equivalent to the mortality rate from driving 106–483 miles per day) for 8 other states and the UK. People <65 years old without underlying predisposing conditions accounted for only 0.7–3.6% of all COVID-19 deaths in France, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Georgia, and New York City
quote:
Individuals with age <40 accounted for <1.3% of all COVID-19 deaths in European countries and Canada and 0.4–2.3% in the US states

And it makes sense.
Thanks for that.
It’s unfortunate those that could, don’t make this known. Would change this country overnight.

I had a fricking mask in my hand TexDiddler lol. So because I wasn’t wearing it outside like a good little robot he cancels my ride, flags me as a safety risk on Lyft, and the app forces me to photo myself with one on to get another. They can get fricked and so can you if that’s the country you want to live in.

It has a dominatrix vibe to it. They get a kick out of forcing conservatives to do something they don’t like. They want to punish conservatives
