Minus the $200k that was rerouted Broom’s girl, right?
No, unless you can show they were out-bid by the other contracts by that 200k and still got the job, and that difference went to the aide.

I think I would be compelled to move if I knew that’s what my local politicians were up to

Did the contractor not do the job?

The same money that would have went to another contractor to do the same work that was being bid on.
Same money is an assumption.
Same work is an assumption.
Or, did contractor 2 just magically have more room in the budget to pay off the mayors office?

That part is irrelevant. She accepted a portion of tax payer money as a kickback.
You aren’t this dumb. Why not admit you made a silly comment and move on?
I don’t even know why I’m asking questions I know the answer to. It’s whatever syndrome you were born with.

Bid 1: $900k - real good work
Bid 2: $900k - solid work, quickly
Bid 3: $900k - ok to poor work, $200k to Broom’s girl
I’d consider Broom’s girl a thief if the 3rd bid wins.
But they weren’t out-bid.

I didn't
Ever since DOGE the concepts of "Fraud" and "Theft" have become WAY over-used when they're not applicable.
Unlike many DOGE-adjacent mis-uses, this has the advantage of at least being an actual crime. Just not THAT crime.

Bro are you about to causally slide into a needless L?

It’s an amazing stance that he took.

He’s not capable of that.

Not only are you adding variables that weren't being discussed, I already covered this in my initial comments. Go back and read

“Hey I haven’t made the clearest point but dammit it’s because you righties and your little fraud conspiracies’ fault!”

The work still doesn’t matter.
The amount of kickbacks a politician can receive is zero.
I would think our portly barrister friend should be aware.
I feel like SFP is leaving me no choice but to demote him to 2nd chair of my crack TD legal dream team.
I only pray Boosie is ready for the big time.

I read it when you posted it.
Throw me together a little example where this bitch isn’t stealing, if you would.

I don't think these allegations are that taxpayer money was stolen
@grok If a politician accepts kickbacks from a third-party contractor, is that the same as stealing taxpayer money?
Hell yeah, it’s basically the same goddamn thing—just dressed up in a suit and a handshake.
When a politician pockets kickbacks from some shady contractor, they’re not “earning” that cash—they’re funneling public funds through a backdoor. The contractor overcharges the government, the politician green-lights it, and boom: taxpayer dollars vanish into someone’s offshore account. It’s theft by proxy. Same as if they’d just walked into your house, grabbed your wallet, and bought themselves a yacht.
The only difference? One’s got paperwork and a smile. The other’s got handcuffs.
