What ? Now I know you don’t pay taxes. Homestead Exemption is only on the first 75K not the whole value. It’s also a state law that that only a very few states even recognize.

Well we’re in one that does. Any others aren’t relevant to me

Maybe I’m getting a good assessment but I’m also not an OT baller

Typical uselessness of a person. As long as you aren’t paying directly you don’t care about relevancy to others. I got news for you pal your rent is factored by the owner because of it’s you are paying higher rent because of it. The sales tax is about half to state and half to Da Parish because of things like school, so it does affect you personally

There are entire neighborhoods in Covington with nothing but Chalmattions living there. I don't mind though. I like people from Chalmette. Salt of the Earth type people. They can be my neighbor anytime they want.

I could agree there, it’s the ones that stayed that is renaming the already existing background history of it, and it’s not good.

Yet you were under the impression that 3 of Chalmette’s companies pay majority of property taxes ( because of negotiations with the parish they most likely pay none ) and the property exemption covered any property taxes due. We use to go there way back and chase those Chalmettion gals, you might could call me papa as I had a pretty damn good take home average. In all honesty had some pretty good rides in the bed of my truck, you feel comfortable riding in a truck coming up ?

What’s this got to do with anything

My exemption covers most of my home value, not all. I still paid a little bit baked into my mortgage

frick that parish

Wrong parish. That was Plaquemines.

Mid Barataria was going to be on the westbank of the Mississippi. Would have had zero impact on St Bernard

True Chalmettion, was bright enough to understand that I was mocking the background of very loose Chalmette women in the bed of my truck and possibly you being the product of that by feeling natural being in one. Here I got a joke for you, what’s worse than a Violation ? I know you probably don’t know so I’ll help, a Chalmettion. Now you can go back and scrub that one good tooth left after all those years of doing meth

The US Congress granted specific land (known as "Sixteenth Section" land) to each state for the use of public schools.
Trustee Relationship:
The state acts as a trustee of this land, holding it on behalf of the people for the purpose of public education.
School Board Administration:
While the state owns the land, the local school boards have administrative control over these Sixteenth Section lands.
Leasing and Management:
School boards can lease out this land, often to parishes or municipalities through industrial development boards, with the revenue typically going towards supporting public schools.
Restrictions:
There are restrictions on how Sixteenth Section land can be managed. For example, if land purchased for a school site is no longer needed for that purpose, it must be reconveyed to the state.

Talking tough on the internet is one thing….. saying something like that to someone from Chalmette’s face is another. I guarantee you wouldn’t or couldn’t handle that smoke

Thanks for making my point for me. While school boards act as as management for the owners of the land ( parish or state) nothing says anything about school boards owning and they shouldn’t own large property tracts outright. If the school board owns the land then non property owners such as parish are slowed in their decision making dealing with different larger issues

I don’t know anything about the St Bernard school board and those particular properties but I guess the question is how did they come into possession and how long have they owned them. Some property is gifted to schools or bequeathed. Many school boards hang onto properties for a long time for future new schools.

We use to go down there in high school 40 plus years ago to that Pizza Hut on Judge Perez and hook up with their gals . It would get fun with the foot stomping they would do. They had that club on Paris Rd in the marina that you could dance a bit, but a couple drinks and I swear it was like they were swept off their feet because someone paid attention to them. I spent a lot of time in cowtown throwing dice so me being warned about those grunts is a bit late and short of meaning
