Model 3 starts around $44,000
Starting price is $35,000 minus $3,750 tax incentive.

Tesla has a range of about 208 miles fully charged at a cost of $9.8.
Range on the lowest model is 220.The one I have is 310 (about to have an update that brings it to 325). It cost me less than 8 dollars to fill up at a supercharger this past weekend in Mobile. If I charge at home it is less than $6.
Not counting maintenance cost are practically nothing
I don't give two shits about the environment global warming or whatever. The tech and driving make a Tesla the best thing I have ever driven or even ridden in.

Serious question...how does difference in outdoor temp affect the range/charge on these vehicles? Seems like cold weather/hot weather would affect the range on them.
Cold weather can for sure affects it. From my experience if you have the heat on full blast and its below 40 degrees you will see at least a 20% drop in range. I think its mostly the heater though. If I just have the seat warmers on its only maybe a 5% drop

it costs $9.80 to charge based on electricity prices of 13 cents per kWh
I won't be an electric car fan until quick change interchangeable batteries, but the above can be significantly reduced w a smart meter at your house and joining ecar program w power co.
We leased a Leaf for commuter because it was literally free in Georgia. Charged at night get a penny a kw/hr.

I am an adult. I can drive myself.

Does your Ford drive itself?
Nope, and neither do the cars owned by people that don't have insurance.
Does your Tesla guarantee that you wont be hit, while youre letting them drive for you?

Something isn’t right at Tesla The warning signs are there that something is wrong. They are cutting prices, closing shops, and cutting sales staff. They have big bond payments due soon. They are certainly not in a position of strength. Their press releases have an Enron vibe to them. It wouldn’t surprise me that any day we wake up and they just say it’s over and the stock opens up at $2 a share.

They will go the way of Deloreans.

That’s because electric cars transfer power faster than gas engines do. Only a handful of combustion engine cars can compete (and they are way more expensive).
Also, the damned things are eerily silent.

Didn't some city or state or something pass a law requiring them to make a noise of some sort because bikers kept getting hit?

My family and I were at a restaurant last week walking back to our vehicle when my 16 year old daughter said “ohhh, a Tesla.” I wouldn’t have known it was anything other than a nice sedan had she not said that. It was a Model S with black wheels. I approached it and gave it a walk around because I had never seen one and wanted to see what the hype was about. My conclusion was that it was a well styled sporty sedan. I liked the body of the car and the wheels were a good look. But it would not have been something I would have gone to check out had she not said Tesla. It didn’t catch the eye much more,If any, than any other luxury sedan. Good looking car but not something to ever make me approach an owner to chat about it.

Chain reaction battery fires are in, baw... did u not get the memo??

The styling is bland and if you look at it in detail, you will see manufacturing issues. Issues like big gaps in body panels and door handles that don’t line up

I’ve seen a fair number on the road in Big Sky Montana and in Jackson Wyoming. I’d be curious what the range is when it’s negative twenty.

I can tell you the reasons I bought a Model S. Driven it about 2.5 years now.
Let me be very clear: I do not give a flying frick about CO2, Elon Musk, sustainability, or any other bullshite.
I also couldnt give two shits what any other person thinks about me when they see my car. Anyone who is pissed off, impressed, amused, admiring, condescending, or anything else can frick right off.
I wanted a badass sedan. I only paid about 20-30% more than I would have planned to spend on a high end Audi Or BMW anyway, so money was not a big factor considering the awesome technology.
I havent wasted my time in a gas station, oil change, or any maintenance at all in that entire time. The time savings must add up to many dozens of hours by now. I had to get a new tire once for a side puncture.
I have never been to a service center or had a single problem with the car. This is true for most Tesla owners I personally have talked to (anecdotal obviously).
I rarely leave town in a car, and when I do its about 100-120 miles away so I can go round trip. I just plug in in my garage a couple nights a week. I've saved thousands. Ive used the superchargers a few times and they are crazy fast. You never need to go to 100% to get to the next one.
Every single day I look forward to driving to work (or wherever). Its like being in the cockpit of a fighter jet or rocket. I have driven many cars and this experience easily tops them all. It is still fun and exciting after 25,000 miles.
Its a blast and the tech in the car is super cool.
Thats all I got.

They still have really good margins and high demand for their cars. Cutting out the stores is just a way to keep cost down for the base model. Electric cars are just completely different than an internal combustion engine they require hardly and maintenance so Tesla doesn't need to do the bloated dealership model. It makes sense for them to push to all online models when most states don't even let them sell there cars.
The bond payment is due tomorrow and the have cash on hand to pay it off completely

My neighbor has one. His car stopped running few weeks ago when the temp hit -40 here in Minnesota. Many other Tesla owners had the same issue as well throughout minneapolis in cold weather.
No thanks
