Plugged it in each night to charge to 75% and you wake up each morning with 225 miles or so ready to go. My utility bill went up about $30-$40 per month. Charling to 75% prolongs the battery life instead of fully charging.
Awesome. I expect everyone will run out to their local Walmart and pick up a 220v charging station. They're plug and play, right? Just plug the cord into two 110 outlets and you have 220!!!
Or, if, like me, your garage is a workspace instead of a place to park cars, then you could also be shite out of luck without a 40' extension cord. Maybe I can rig it to run from my laundry room, which is the only circuit in my house that has 220v. Let's retrofit 175,000,000 households to have 220v charging stations! Retrofit the majority of apartment complexes that just have outdoor parking and you're good to go! That would only cost several trillion dollars to do. But, most people living in apartments can't afford a Tesla anyway, so that point is really moot.
I can fill up a 36-gallon tank in 10 minutes at the pump, go inside to pee, and go 620 miles in my truck. That's at roughly 17 mpg. Most gasoline cars get a multiple of that.
I'm all for people buying these if it makes sense for them practically and financially - without the tax credits. I'm opposed to liberals forcing this on people and making people driving gasoline cars subsidize it.
Your post raises a lot of inconvenient realities that the EPA ratings and liberal media don't take into account.

Sorry, but this EV shite is foolish.
The politicization of EVs and the thinking that it will somehow save the planet is foolish. Like all technology it has its uses. Just use it were it fits and makes sense. That's really all there is to it.
Would I own an EV? Sure. I love the torque on electric engines. With that said and my current situation and given the current technology I would never own just an EV. I would have to own both and use the right vehicle for the right situation.

You know who are really looking forward to all of these charging stations being installed? Copper thieves. The price of copper will increase because of demand, and it will be everywhere to steal.

Nuclear power is the answer.
Agree 100%.
With that said we still need natural gas plants for throttling during peak demand. You can increase the output at nuclear plants by pulling rods and increasing heat but the reaction time is a lot longer than a gas turbines where you can open a control valve within seconds to provide more fuel to the turbine to output more electricity.
But while we kind of digressed on the topic of nuclear, the ITER project has the potential to be a game changer in the energy supply business. ITER is a nuclear fusion project.

Copper thieves have to eat, too!
I haven't seen any statistics, but I'm guessing that most copper thieves are underprivileged minorities, and the penalties for stealing copper have been reduced to account for the systemic racism that permeates this country.
So, aside from the extra copper cost reparations, EV's have a LONG way to go before they're affordable and practical for half of American drivers.

Very dramatic. It takes like 20 mins for 80% charge.
Really? What if you're the 4th person in que and now you have to wait an hour for an available charger?

I don’t want to overstate it, but there’s a moral problem there. You’re shifting pollution from a tailpipe, to a plant somewhere else.

Americans will balk at sitting around for twenty minutes.
On a road trip, 20 minutes to gas and go to the bathroom and buy snacks is pretty quick.

I don't own an EV and may never own an EV, but that's Democrat Underground stuff.

8 Tesla charging stations and there are six vehicles charging and people just sitting in their cars.
Who has time for that?

Three card monty. People still fall for it.

Yeah, if you've got all the time in the world. On a long trip, you would need to do that 3 times in a day.

The problem is that it is inferior in this very specific way to conventional vehicles. People will ask, why should I put up with that? When I can drive a conventional vehicle?
True. This is why we need Govt to help steer people in the right direction. We have to make it where it’s cost prohibitive to own a gas vehicle through taxes, regulation, and investment in green energy infrastructure.
If this fails to work, we might have to just outlaw production of new gas vehicles that aren’t for heavy duty commercial purposes.

To me, the hybrid makes much more sense.

I really hope this is sarcasm.

Send a couple emails, make a phone call, text a friend, watch a Facebook video. It’s not a deal and may actually be a decent rest break for long trips.
Could care less.
I will be one of the very last people driving a fossil fuel truck. I will only give it up when I cant find fuel, and that will be in a long time. Heavy equipment does not work with electric very well.
And by them I may just move to the farm full time and use real horsepower to get around.

So government knows the "right direction"? Or is it just you?
Since blacks are incapable of getting a voter ID, according to the left, how will they possibly be able to legally drive an electric vehicle without a license? How will they make the payments?
How about we let the market decide, and dumb fricks like you that either have no life experience or are too stupid to get a degree in something meaningful can all meet in your mom's basement that was paid for by capitalism and discuss the proper solution.
You sound like Hitler.

And honestly with current emission standards for automobiles and power plants (reduced emissions, scrubbers, etc), there's not a whole lot of pollutants going into the air these days anywhere.

Except in Chyna. But liberals give them a pass because they make well connected liberals rich, and they have less white skin.
