Maybe the peace officer was just trying to keep the peace.
He was enforcing private property rights, at the request of the property owner.

But "muh Christian martyrs!!!!"

Trying to picture what sidewalk in Victory Park is not public sidewalk.

Also…the noise ordinance regarding amplification is usually only applicable when it is near a hospital or school.

Everyone involved acted poorly IMO.

No problem Hank, youve never spoke against them before. I dont expect you to start now, unless its a Christian or "right wing" group.

Probably that small plaza in front of the W Hotel.

EDIT
Looking at the video again, it is the small plaza in front of the Cirque Residences, between the W Hotel and AA Center.

It is a paved plaza on private property, not a public "sidewalk" adjacent to a street.

Both were released with a citation. Noise ordinance or some dumb shite like that.

I disagree.

The property owner AND the officers asked the perps to please lower the volume, and the perps refused and became belligerent. Not to be overly simplistic, but many "street preachers" just don't think that rules apply to them, because they are "doing God's work."

Should the officers have shrugged their shoulder and said "OK, we tried," or should they have enforced the ordinance AND the property rights of the owner of that property?

In my view, the latter.

AND a formal CTW (Criminal Trespass Warning).

That means that they can be arrested for trespass with no further questions asked, if they ever again enter property owned by (probably) the W Hotel.

EDIT
The CTW seems to apply the property owned by the Cirque Residences apartments, located immediately to the southeast of the main entrance to AA Center, rather than the W Hotel.

The Cirque seems to own all of the property leading straight into AA Center from the southeast, so our preachers will have to find another way to proselytize to Mavericks fans.

The dude says "why am I being arrested officer"

Cop says "because I told you to back off twice and you didnt hear"

Id love to hear the officer explain to the judge why he arrested these men because they didnt hear him.

And beyond that...this dude will have to stand before his Creator one day and explain why he arrested men spreading the Word

Well, Dex, they were not on a public sidewalk, and they were not "arrested."

But it was a "Texas cop," so you are batting .333 on this one.

LESSON: Don't take "Libs of TikTok" as "gospel."

No, the officer said, "I told you to back off twice, and you didn't heed it."

How do you know this Christian was being peaceful? I've seen these street preachers screaming out, calling women passersby "WHORES!" If I was walking by one them with my girlfriend, and he screamed out that she was a whore, I'd consider those fighting words. Inciteful language is not protected speech.

Look I am all for people having freedom but Jesus people, he told you to move, just move. I don’t understand the need to rebuff LE at every single corner by every single group.

While these guys grandstand they don’t realize the cop may have information they don’t know about and this is for their safety.

People are just douchebags.

Also, this is a big city and with terrorism the ways it’s been Le doesn’t have time to play traffic cop with these heretics that want attention.

Literally rule 1. In the Bible - God told us this and it’s what destroys 90% of men or more.

And yet, it still happens all the time lol

They might have been preaching the Old Testament.

Anyway, how would you respond if a Muslim were to enter your home or your business (without your permission) and start preaching the word of Muhammad? I suspect that you might seek a CTW, at a minimum.
