Uh - I'm just replying to your post above - you think nothing has changed since Biden has been in office?

I mean I don't think I've got a positive view of Republicans, just a more negative view of Democrats. I wasn't particularly liberal in the first place nor are many college-educated whites - I just didn't like Trump.

I've got no problem with economic conservatism (although Trump wasn't economically conservative), it's the social issues that I'm not too enthusiastic about. It feels to me that Republicans are trying to appeal to a blue-collar base by focusing on social issues rather than advocating for lower taxes or a smaller government.

It feels like Republicans know that working-class whites aren't voting for them because of economic conservatism but for social reasons.

You sound like you're just describing positions. Tell me what you believe in

My political positions are all over the place.

I would like a party that is:

Anti-affirmative action, a little less 'woke' than Democrats are, harsh on illegal immigration, not as restrictive as Republicans on abortion, not as anti-globalization as Republicans currently are, and I'm in favor of a skills-based immigration system.

But I'm also not in favor of abortion restrictions, don't really care about bathroom gender issues and there are other social issues that Republicans seem obsessed with that I don't care too much about.

On issues like COVID, I'm in favor of a mandate, I think vaccination is perfectly fine, and I think governments are right to take it seriously.

On economic issues, I would like low corporate taxes, less government spending, and lower income taxes. But I also don't really mind infrastructure spending, increasing worker protections.

On the environment, I'm pretty pro-nuclear-power but I think government needs to be involved in encouraging the private sector to innovate in this space.

In a pre-Trump world, I'd probably be closer to being a Republican than a Democrat. But I have positions that fit both parties.

That makes you a statist.

The current base won't be having that, just like we weren't having Jeb in 2016.

If they want a RINO, they will have to groom one from the ground up and trick us into thinking he/she is a true conservative.

But it's not hard. Just beware of people who claim to be MAGA but have ZERO track record to examine. Look at their personal background. If the person is, say, a trial lawyer, it's probably a good bet that the person isn't legit.

I don't necessarily agree.

A statist wants the state to have a larger part in the running of the economy and they tend to believe in a centralized planning system. I don't believe in government ownership of industry and I'm a big believer in the profit motive.

Vaccines are a health issue.

He would win because of Trump clown . Do you not see what is going on in the country? It’s a revolt and everyone is going to show it at the ballot box in 22

I guess it depends on what you mean by liberal. On economic issues, I'm an economic liberal in the sense that I believe in free markets, capitalism, and no government ownership of industry.

On social issues, I'm neither a liberal nor a conservative. I've got mixed positions on certain things - for example, I don't really believe someone can change their gender but I also don't care too much about religion/abortion.

I'd describe myself as someone who's fairly moderate. I've voted for both parties in the past.

there is no downside other then he is another globalist liberal rino

Well I'd rather have a globalist liberal rino ensconced in the statehouse in Richmond instead of the US Capitol in DC. He can do way less damage there. He might just do some good things, especially if the pubs regain the senate and house of delegates, so there is that.

Ok - I'm going to challenge you on this.

What are the Top 1-3 things/stances you would fight for?

If you don't want to answer - it's completely fine

Honestly, nothing.

My life is pretty fine as it is. But if I was forced to choose:

Lower income + capital gains taxes, skills-based immigration system, and no religion in politics.

What works in a purple state doesn’t carry the national vote.

If it personally affected me or I thought it was morally unconscionable.

Ok. So let’s just hope a leftist Governor gets re-elected then. Sounds like a plan.

Then the Democrat's playbook is working to perfection on you and your kind. Congratulations for swallowing the whole hook.

Sadly that is true to an extent.
