He's a fraud. 5 years ago he was a borderline racist Florida man who liked being the redneck political consultant who carried guns and did baw shite while trashing leftists.

But he was left behind with the rest of the old guard and didn't take it well.

What do people like Wilson, Schmidt and Conway all have in common? They all had no place on the new right, and all felt rejected because they weren't at the cool kids table anymore.

Calling Mexicans rapists, Black countries "shaitholes", Central Park 5, totally clueless as to who Frederick Douglass is. Shall I go on?

Well, you left out the 'fine people on both sides' lie, but other than that you pretty much repeated all the others

What's the Lincoln Project's history? Neocons who lied us into a war with Iraq that has killed hundreds of thousands of people? You represent perfectly the brainwashed American who thinks the civility of American politicians is authentic and not simply a ruse to hide their sociopathy.

Are we just to pretend that Haiti and African countries aren’t shitholes because some people may get offended by reality?

Guess what? Those countries are shitholes and I’d rather a president who will acknowledge reality than pretend they aren’t.

They were always more comfortable being on the left - for all of their talk about principles, they are far more concerned about their perception at DC cocktail parties than being a part of the Republican Party.

This is another ridiculous example of gaslighting that we overlook now that things have gotten even more batshit insane.

The complaint was never that Trump was crude (which he was).

It was "how dare he call those countries shitty/dumpy/etc." Which is simply off-the-charts nuts.

I've noticed in my limited interaction with tweets from the Lincoln project that most of their followers are not republicans. Is anyone shocked?

I think we (or at least I) underestimated how many in politics/media were driven not by a hidden lefty/corporate/moderate/etc. ideology, but by sheer narcissism and belief that being a part of those communities made them better than the general public.

I genuinely think that's what we're seeing right now with sports journalists and COVID. I think some are Biden supporters no doubt, but more than that I think they're driven by the need to be able to preach to the common man about what is good and bad and healthy and not healthy. In a world where their power to do so is increasingly threatened, they're bristling up and doubling down on an us (media/the elite/etc.) vs. them (public) mentality.

Frankly it puts me in a difficult spot, because I loathe those people while simultaneously acknowledging that the general American public is quite stupid about quite a lot. I think the difference is that I don't necessarily view them/it (the public) as "less than", but I think these journalists and consultants absolutely do.

Maybe you should take these pressing issues to this guy. And if he doesn't buy into it, tell him how you really feel.
