Says the poster that wanted to bring him here.

You and your ilk just ruined the lives of two extended families in West Virginia.

Their Thanksgiving surely won’t be a Happy one.

Own this travesty.

Actually the bill that allowed him in had bipartisan support

Mitch McConnell
“intend to keep our nation’s promises to brave Afghans who have taken great risks to help America and our partners fight the terrorists”.

Rep. Peter Meijer
Afghan allies who risked their lives to help protect American troops. Who braved assassination threats by the Taliban because they believed in America and trusted us to look out for their safety. I would be honored to welcome them,”

Multiple Republican governors also supported it

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan
Many of these Afghan citizens—our allies—bravely risked their lives to provide invaluable support for many years to our efforts as interpreters and support staff, and we have a moral obligation to help them,"

South Carolina, Gov. Henry McMaster
“Those people … helped protect Americans,” “Now it is our duty to help them. We need to help them.”

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds
“They’ve helped us, helped Americans, and we’re more than willing to help them relocate to Iowa.”

What was the name of the bill? Who sponsored it? Was there any opposition to it?

Thanks

There are several elements. The bill to expand the number of visas given to Afghans who worked with the U.S. passed the House 407 to 16.
LINK

The funding was part of a stopgap bill that the Senate voted 98 to 0 and the House 411 to 11
LINK

I think there was also another later bill that passed the Senate with 65 votes.

I was wondering why, with all the elevated ICE activity, this guy just floated along.

Looks like we have our answer.

Just remember this next time we institute a regime change (Venezuela) because we will end up with a shite load of "refugees."

Thanks. My nephew is a marine who fought in Afghanistan. He was adamant about saving the Afghans that fought alongside his unit.

I didn't remember ANY opposition to the proposition that those Afghans who fought on our side should be granted asylum. It looks like that's what the Trump DOJ decided about this monster.

It's a shame this tragedy is being politicized.

It is tremendously immoral to support bringing populations of groups such as Somali’s or Afghans to the US, or Europe. The costs are enormous, both in financial and violent criminal act metrics.

Afghans are actually worse, from all that I have read, in terms of their propensity/ability to assimilate vs. all others though. I believe they have the absolute highest rate of believe in sharia law of any population on earth (over 99%).

Add, the SIV program was not reviewed or changed by congress this year, so the bureaucrats running it operationally just have continued to process visa requests by those here. These aren’t political appointees. And plenty of Republicans in addition to every Democrat (not just those above but also folks like John Cornyn) have praised/supported this seditious idiocy.

If we stop fricking up their country, we wouldn't "need" to bring them here. Somali's, Afghans, Iraqis,
