Bingo. People love to put this type of onus on individuals in a tough job market - like those timeless classics, "just get a better job!" or "Learn to code!" - but when it's turned around and the onus is put on the employer to evolve and meet the demands of the unwashed masses, it's a no-go.

This post shows a colossal misunderstanding of free market economics and freedom in general. Employers are not competing with their natural competitors for labor force. They are competing with the government who is literally paying people to do nothing. No business can compete with that.

I haven't seen you or anyone else in this thread address the pre-Covid issues with filling low wage,

I haven't seen you address it either genius.

In my home state, Georgia, there is still 5x the amount of continuous unemployment claims then there was pre Covid. 5 times.

The issue is the Fed Gov continuing to prop up unemployment with additional monies. The only way to reduce the amount of continuing claims is to cut off the federal money. That is the argument.

The market will take care of the rest. In my area, I see signs from manufacturing companies starting at $15/hr and fast food starting at $10/11 hr. Better then what it was pre Covid.

Good. Nobody wants to work a shite job for shite pay while the owner runs around playing socialite all day and a worker can barely pay their light bill. Supply and demand, high demand, low supply, better learn how to play the game or suffer.

I'm not sure it's that so much as disdain for the free market.

And you can't even address the issue which is employers offering shitty deals to employees and forcing the taxpayers to subsidize their profits while dodging taxes.

Newsflash bozo: we have been subsidizing profits for giant corporations for decades.

No, the issue is the federal government is using taxpayer dollars to compete with private enterprise for entry level employees. Entry level employees should make entry level wages. Entry level wages are only a shitty deal to those who did not find it important to educate themselves, are too lazy to learn the skills which make them more valuable to their employers, or are perfectly happy fleecing the taxpayer.

No it doesn't. It shows that I have a deep understanding of the fundamental flaws of a pure free market. And the responses show how much people hate to see a shift in power from corporations to the middle and working class of people which make up the vast majority of our populace.

Of course they can compete with that. It's super fricking simple, actually. Pay them better than the equivalent of starvation wages and they won't need to stay home and collect government assistance. Boom, corporations win and their employees win. We can all go home now.

Which are constantly available. IF YOU APPLY YOURSELF.

If you fail to see lackeys getting 5 to 10 dollars an hour more to do the same job..... you will. In the restaurants... grocery stores... home improvement stores... etc.

Now do the difference in just consumer prices, grocery prices, and restaurant prices.

And since when have you been a white supremacist?? You want this country to be more like a solid white one?? Your racism shall not be tolerated.

Here's some more food for thought. The income tax in Denmark ranges from 65% to 55%. That's right, the LOW END is 55%. That means that burger slinger pays over half her income back to the government. Oh, and a 22% national sales tax every time she buys something.

Now if you want to tell the 47% of this country that pays zero income taxes that they're about to pony up over half their income so they can make $21/hour at McDonalds, let me know in advance so I can pull up a chair and watch the reaction.
