No it's not. Gender and sex are synonymous. I don't know how long ago some progressive "scholar" tried to split the two (it wasn't very long), but the libs have lapped that shite up like it's a fact, and it isn't.

For the most part humans, being pliable, accept the gender role their parents and society choose for them, and most do it without a thought in the world although most will, when young, explore with gender roles and little girls will put on daddy's work boots and maybe draw a mustache on their upper lip and little boys might try some lip stick like mama or something along those lines. Throughout the history of mankind, however, and in every culture known which had the ability to record its culture and history, there have been humans who do indeed have the physical characteristics of one sex and identify as the opposite gender. Some cultures have held this people in fairly high regard...even Western European culture has done this as the history of cross dressing in entertainment in Europe is long and storied and many of the entertainers have been held in high regard by the people of those cultures.
I was, just recently in fact, unaware of what gender meant and was, like most people, under the mistaken notion that gender and sex were interchangeable. They are not...gender is based on social and cultural traits while sex is based on hormones, dna and reproductive organs. Parents and culture absoluetly determine a child's gender, usually before the child is born today but almost always as soon as they see the child's reproductive organs...they immediately begin referring to that child as a boy or girl according to its plumbing and never consider that the individual child never had a say in the matter. Most humans accept what others have chosen for them in regards to gender but some do not and some simply can not, apparently. We have no issue with accepting people who have accepted gender roles assigned to them by others but some among are truly disturbed by the rare individual who won't or can't accept those roles when their actions have ZERO bearing on anyone or anything other than themselves. If your are disturbed by the sight or thought or an image of a man in a dress that is your cross to bare, not the man in the dress. Both of you have a decision to make...he has to decide between being who he is or who others determine he is and you have to decide what you are going to allow to disturb you.“]

Of course it is. I recently read a book by Abigail Shrier called Irreversible Damage and I want to say every case study she did it was always girls from progressive families. I think the research she looked up said something like 75% of the time gender dysphoria occurs in kids from progressive families.

In California there are many circles where it is a social status symbol to have a trans kid.
