You're just ignoring facts and reality, at this point.
In what world is it legal to fraudulently use another's ID to access a computer database?

This is a pure political prosecution.
Is there something Trump can do?

This will be another situation where your opinion will lose in court.

It is, in fact, not this.
She was a criminal, and a bad/dumb one at that.
QAnon bullshite rotted what brain she had left

Not legally.

Has she appealed yet?

No.
Because you're ignoring the facts (and questions)

Just answer that question.

She was made an example by the dems. It’s a gross injustice.

Ten years in prison seems excessive for using a fake ID.

Has she appealed yet?
Yes, and she's trying a habeas route concurrently
quote:
Peters has appealed the conviction, and while the Colorado Court of Appeals reviews her appeal, her legal team filed a federal habeas corpus petition, which was the subject of Tuesday’s hearing. The petition, which was filed in the U.S. District Court of Colorado, argues that Peters should be released on bond pending the appeal decision.
quote:
One of the requirements for a habeas corpus petition to be granted is for the petitioner to have exhausted all other state-level legal avenues for resolving the case. The judge in Peters’ habeas corpus hearing, Scott T. Varholak, appeared to doubt that some of the five arguments in her petition met that requirement.
“It’s not clear to me that that exhausts anything,” Varholak said.
Following questions raised by Varholak, Peters’ lawyers agreed to drop four of the five parts of the petition and focus exclusively on an argument that Peters’ imprisonment violates her First Amendment right of free speech. The other parts included arguments that Peters’ imprisonment violates her 14th Amendment right of due process and the supremacy clause of the Constitution, which establishes that federal laws take precedence over potentially conflicting state laws.
The habeas is at "throwing shite against the wall" status

Well THAT is a different discussion.
It was more than that, and she also did other things like give that sensitive data she acquired illegally to a third party who published it online.
The saddest part about this is how her data didn't even do anything for the QAnon movement. She rotted her brain and committed multiple felonies for literally nothing.

Put your defense attorney hat on for a second. How would you have appealed this case?
Posted on 10/2/25 at 8:20 am to GumboPot
She’s going to serve more time than many violent criminals that rape, steal and murder.
More time than a drug dealer responsible for who knows how many overdose deaths.

The lack of equal application of justice is what I object to.

I would have concerns about my bar license appealing this, because these arguments seem to have no legal merit. I would have called her insane for not taking a plea deal to minimize exposure on the penalty side.
I have a special "CYA" letter I send clients who are about to make similarly bad decisions where I outline just how stupid and risky their decision is, because people who serve long prison sentences LOVE to file ethical complaints. Can't leave any loose ends when you know they're fricking up.

I get that she was convicted of illegally accessing a database. My question is what did she find?

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time, Tina
This is the motto of all of those tough-on-crime Democrats who were passing autopen blanket pardons like they were candy.
I bet the families of Iryna Zarutska and Logan Federico wish Democrats were as tough on crime with their killers as they were with Tina Peters.

For those that know the answer, what can the DOJ do if it is a state case? Can the DOJ at least sue the state of Colorado on her behalf and try to get it in front of the right judges?
