If CNN were smart, they'd fire Lemon and put Cenk Ugyer in his place (if he'd accept it). The guy is a character and will call both sides out on their shite, and get more people there with a Young Turks loyalty. That's just my recommendation to them, and they can take it or leave it.
vlogs and podcasts aren't television. he tried his hand at it and it didn't go well.

I would get money off the books and look for undiscovered talent or someone from outside the political news/entertainment wheelhouse.

but it's not just the talent, it's really the production and formats...cnn blows.

As we type this, Wolf Blitzer leading off his show with:

Consensus that Russia hacked the election and Putin personally oversaw the operation.

This is the actual word for word title at bottom of screen:

"Intel Shows Putin Approved US Election Hacking"

cnn is trying to pretend as if they're not political entertainment that skews very left.

They need to go all in on this and hire Jon Stewart or some former Daily Show person.

Which is why I said "if he'd accept". Cenk claims (and I believe him here) that the heads of NBC asked him to revoke his statements he made against the Democrats and he refused, which lead to him leaving MSNBC. We know a fact that they did this to Mika Brzezinski and he recently said the same thing happened to him but he got canned for it.

He did an entire 20 minute piece on how corrupt the Clinton Foundation was 10 days before the election, which would have gotten him canned at MSNBC or CNN for sure.

He'd definitely request that the executives stay out of his business and give him 2 years to build an audience or else he wouldn't do it. I'd say give it to him, but that's just my opinion.

CNN just needs to change their format.
building the network back up isn't an overnight thing. it's not that simple and in the meantime they are paying cooper $10 million, while blitzer makes FAR LESS

blitzer has more value, and cooper isn't doing much better despite a more coveted time slot and receiving more push from the network. if they can get rid of cooper, they should start making those plans ASAP.

Hilarious considering Wolf couldn't point out Russia on a map.

I tuned in to CNN around election time to watch all the disbelief. That shite has been turned off now.

This is what they should do. We have learned over the past 12 months that when libs get caught with their pants down (and maybe or maybe not with little children) what they do is double down on their stupidity.

I expect CNN to move even farther down the Fake News spectrum.

I think it would be a piers morgan repeat

square peg/round hole

if you're going to give someone 2 years to build an audience, may as well look for undiscovered talent. I give msnbc credit for giving the farrow kid a shot. it was a gamble, and they tried something new. also to their credit they realized very quickly that it was a bad fricking idea and canned him

I'd like to see a Cenk vs. Rightie show...he melts with hilarity...Watching him go nuclear on the reg would be good...

Cenk vs. Mark Dice on the regular would be some entertaining TV.

we're also operating under the assumption that cnn has to be a liberal network

conservatives are the majority of the regular cable news viewership, that's why cnn gets a spike during the elections and then falls off of a cliff

so you can compete with msnbc who is gaining ground and has overtaken them for a niche audience, or you can try and split a much bigger audience with fox, but rome wasn't built in a day and that would require a real reset/overhaul...you'd have to clear house.

CNN & Wolf in particular have lost all cred with me. Absent the political slant, I used to follow CNN when ever a disaster of some sort would take place. Now, knowing how biased & untrustworthy Wolf is, I won't be following him on any subject he's involved with. CNN has been deprogrammed from my remote.

Don't blame Wolf. Blame his producers. He will say literally anything that is put on the TelePrompTer before him or what his producer whispers in his ear.

Yeah, that'd be great TV. A more rational Hannity and Colmes would be a good idea.

So Wolfe's producers told him to dance in the aisles at the DNC convention. Ok. Right.
