Most people want the illegals who are murderers and rapists deported. Most people want the illegals committing fraud and living off welfare deported.
It is more nuanced with the Mexican couple who came here 20 years ago, have jobs, and have 2 kids born in the US who have never been to Mexico.
I think Trump typically takes an overly aggressive stance on most issues so he can negotiate down to the position that he really wants, anyway. I think he says he wants to deport all of them, but he has sent signals that he's willing to negotiate.
He'll probably allow DACA and long-time residents who have jobs and pay taxes to stay in exchange for more registration and wall/secure border concessions. Something like giving out permanent work visas to illegals as long as they don't commit any serious crimes, but no pathway to citizenship.
That's probably the compromise we're eventually headed to. The far left wants 0% deportations and the far right wants 100% deportations. The answer is somewhere in between.

But what about the 20 million that Biden invited in? That's what Trump campaigned on - deport all the criminals and all the illegals brought in by traitor-Joe.

This is the GOPe answer and I thought the point of hiring Trump was to not bend to the establishment.
