Trump will win Florida by 1 million votes in 2024. Big Ron will win it by 3 million in 2028.

Desantis will not run for President.

I know a few big donors to Ron. If Trump runs, Desantis has told them he will not run if Trump does, because . . . .

He’s not dumb enough to become another Rubio or Ted Cruz

And they all realize this will happen if he tries to usurp Trump. He wont be a national contender ever again

This desire to drive a wedge between voters on the right just seems so intentional to me. Sabotaging your own side… create animosity which can drive down enthusiasm.

This needs to end. The dems will win if we don’t get fully behind our candidate. Whomever that ends up being will need a unified party and support from independents.

Well, Cruz kicked Trump's arse pretty thoroughly in the 2016 Texas GOP primary, too.

Let's give this a couple of years to play out.

So you point out another very left poll.

It's almost like you visit the leftist news sites daily.

Let me help you with their link:

quote:

When broken down to just those who are firm on their stance, DeSantis' lead extends to nearly 14 points (47.6 percent to 33.2 percent) in a scenario in which the pair ended up as the final two choices in the GOP primary.

That bold and underlined part is a link in the article. It goes to this article:

LINK

This article states this:

quote:

Almost every poll states that Trump is the overwhelming favorite to clinch the GOP nomination should he decide to run again, something he has been hinting about from almost the moment he left office last January.

Interesting when you start actually looking beyond the headline.

Even so, with in your link... towards the bottom:

quote:

While Trump is still the overwhelming favorite the cling the GOP nomination should he chose to run

stating that Desantis is

quote:

While still a distant second at 25 percent

Please note... there isn't even a link to the actual poll either.

Both haven't announced anything yet. If both don't run then the GOP is in serious trouble.

I personally feel like conservative voters are better off not buying into this media-driven, manufactured rift between Trump/Desantis.

Let the cards fall where they may, and vote for whichever one becomes the nominee. This division isn't helping, and it's playing into the hands of the uniparty establishment.

How stupid are we?

He’s going to do it to someone again. Whether it be Rogan, or Ben Shapiro, or Mark Cuban, he’s going to do this again if someone defies him. He’ll rip especially into anyone who endorses DeSantis over him.

I’ve interacted with Ted Cruz multiple times and know others (Democrats, btw) very well who have worked closely with him. I’ve nit experienced this or ever heard anyone say Ted Cruz is an a-hole.

So Cruz isn’t liked but had a bigger lead then than Ron has now. You’re doing a horrible job of defending whatever your point is.

Ted Cruz isn’t liked. He’s notoriously hard to get along with on Capitol Hill. Ted may be the smartest person in the room, but he’s an a-hole I’ve heard on several occasions from both sides of the aisle.
I've never met him, but the consensus is that he took the Phil Gramm award.

"The most dangerous place in DC is standing between Phil Gramm and a TV crew."

I say this as someone who really liked Gramm and who really likes Cruz.

Every single voter that would vote for DeSantis will still vote for Trump vs the alternative when he wins the nomination.

As a Floridian, our local news just reported the exact opposite this morning and that Floridians would vote for Trump at 54%, Desantis was 36% Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio at 1%. Not sure why they threw Cruz in the mix of that poll.
I however, never take the polls seriously. I like DeSantis and Trump but I want DeSantis as my Gov for 4 more years.

The Dems would love a split vote between Trump and DeSantis. Both understand that this cannot happen and so Ron will wait until Trump if he will ever get his second term and then decide to run.

If a current Governor of a state can’t win their own state in a primary, that’s a bad sign.

A Governor beating someone in the primary? Not necessarily anything.

Kasich only won one state primary in 2016, his home state of Ohio, and thought he was going to ride that to a 2020 nomination when Trump lost in 2016. Didn’t happen that way in several levels.
