You don't want to provide any more attention to the statement than necessary. If Trump says, "No Graham, there should be exceptions." Not only does he give the thought more spotlight, but the leftist media will say he's lying and that he's on board.

Look at how the system turned on him when the midterms didn't go as anticipated.

I get it, but if you're looking to be the leader of the party, secure the nomination and so forth - then you have to lead. You can't come out 7 weeks after the elections and say these things.

Idiots took the roe v wade overturn as some political capital. It was the right decision and was not political. Graham and the rest set the land mine for the midterms with the abortion rhetoric. I don’t know if it was calculated or not but it gave a foothold for dems to get out the vote to give us what we got.

Bingo. SFP was trying to tell people on here dunking over Dobbs that it was going to cost the right in the mid-terms. I wouldn't say it was the only reason Whitmer got re-elected, but it was a major one. Trump's message is directed at people like Tudor Dixon. He looks a little weak trying to place blame after the fact, but he is right on this.

I have no problem if that's your opinion, but you have to take the world as it is, not what you want it to be. It's going to cost you politically to have that position. People on here hated Dave Portnoy's meltdown over Dobbs, but it was in line with what most of this country thinks. The good news is I don't think it will be as big of an issue going forward once states settle it.

I won't vote for anyone who supports exceptions. The GOP, and any other supposedly conservative party, will die without the votes of people like me.

A nation that allows the murder of unborn children deserves to die itself, and I'll happily wash my hands of it.

"No exceptions" for rape or maternal life is NOT "social conservatism."
It's religious zealotry enforced on others.

If a woman or a couple decide to carry a product of rape to birth that's just fine, a-okay by me. It's her/their decision, made for her/their own personal reasons. However, employing big government to force everyone into that same decision is not conservative in the least.

Then there is the case a young mother who simultaneously finds out she's a few weeks pregnant and has cancer. The cancer treatment course requires her to undergo abortion, chemo and surgery to save her life. Once recovered, she can have several other beautiful children. Instead zealots, under the guise of "conservatism," would sentence both the mother AND her fetus to death. There is nothing conservative about that whatsoever. In fact, is about as totalitarian a position as could be held.

A major problem, as Trump rightly points out, is the politics of so-called "social conservatism" all too often originate from intellectual giants like Todd Akin ...

"I ain't fer no exceptions fer rape. I'll tell ya why. 'Cause if'n itz reeelly rape, and she if'n she ain't enjoy'n it, she ken shut her repuduckive system down, and not git pregnant. So no preguncies come frum reel rape."

Not allowing carve outs for rape or incest was idiotic, and most outside of the fringe religious right find it insane.

Expand on how consistency is “idiotic”. The baby is either a life (independent of the mother) and deserving of protection or it is not.

If a baby conceived out of rape should be hacked apart why should a baby conceived by the “mistake” of being drunk and bumping uglies with a dude not be?

I get the emotional toll of rape and invest in the woman but that doesn’t make the life created from it not a life that should be afforded the protections our founders put in place.

The rape/incest argument is similar to the gay marriage argument of “love is love” that shoved us down the slippery slope to where we are now with drag story hours at libraries. A baby is either a life or it is not.

Murder is murder. Making exceptions loses the entire premise. Of Republicans want to abandon Christians and Conservatives, fine. Don't count on us to carry the party anymore, we don't give that much of a shite about choosing between high tax degeneracy and low tax degeneracy.

Well if god and jesus make you miscarriage, then are they the murderers since it was their plan to kill your unborn child?

It's funny, in the current political world happening around us, you think Trump is a problem.

Idiots. Pure idiots.

Being played like a fiddle.

I know I'm late to the party, but Trump is 100% right on this. Not only did Republicans fail to capitalize on the abortion win, they acted ashamed of it and disappeared. Sorry your slut girlfriend has to drive out of state, burger.

What if this incest was between consenting adults? "Consenting adults" (and normalized deviance seems) to be the mantra these days.

And you're playing right into their game, but too stupid to realize it.

Grats, I guess. Good for you. Bet you've never spent a second giving time to your abortion cause that you seemingly feel so strongly about.

Yep. All those sluts driving out of state for abortions are going to love you someday, Slow Ho. I just know it. Maybe a couple billion more to Ukraine will save the elections? That is the #1 priority of Americans, you know.
