South and Central America have always been seen as our sphere of influence. The Monroe Doctrine. China and Russia see going after them as a way to get back for what they see as intrusions on their spheres of influence. My guess is the intel is saying these countries are cozying up behind the scenes and he’s basically saying “make my day, do it” publicly. Or he’s just trolling.

No behind the scenes at all. China has taken our place in Latin America since Obama. They are all over south of the border.

Because that's a choke point that needs to be an impenetrable wall to illegals heading north. Restrict where we have to fight the problem.

I can STILL remember my father being furious at Carter in 1977 for doing that. He said these words “Other countries tried to dig that canal and failed. It took Americans to do that. That is Americas canal and that damn peanut farmer doesn’t have the right to give that away”.
As crazy as that sounds, and I was a little kid when he said it, but I remember it. He was pissed.
