Pretti should have been arrested right there.

Yea, I think sending ice to just operate in the chaos is only bound to result in these terrible outcomes ones. Someone arresting the actual violent folks when they act violently would change the dynamics drastically - and potentially save lives
This guy being a jerk the week before doesn’t mean he deserved it, just like him being a nurse doesn’t mean he’s an innocent victim but if laws were being enforced I don’t think he’d be able to have been radicalized in the same way as he’d be worried about his career, etc…
