Think back to when Obammy was president and the ACA was made law.

The Recucks finally get control of Congress and when the vote comes to the Senate to repeal the ACA here comes McShitStain with the thumbs down on repealing the ACA. Keep in mind McShitStain and others campaigned for years on repealing the ACA and they had nothing ready when the opportunity came to do so.

Without opening up competition, like auto insurance, across state lines we will never see lower premiums.

I don't know why people think this is such a panacea.

Insurance premiums are based on local and regional costs (which is exactly why Medicare divides the country into territories). So if you live someplace that costs the insurance company ore money for whatever reason (lots of old people in the area, expensive urban area, etc.) your premiums are going to be higher.

It's theoretically possible that you could see your premiums INCREASE under that scenario if you already happened to live in a place with lower than average health care costs.

The “plan” reads like a Chat-GPT summary of past platitudes and improv speeches.

Let us know when an actual plan exists.

Eliminating these programs would result in immediate and severe repercussions for hospitals

This is something that people seem completely unable to wrap their minds around.

Any change to the current scenario that ends up resulting in the loss of any significant revenue stream to hospitals means that many of them would close. Going to a cash system and using catastrophic insurance only, abolishing Medicare, whatever it is, it means that many hospitals would close.

So if you have a hospital 15 minutes from you right now, after that kind of change the nearest hospital might be 2-3 hours away. Better not get in a car accident or have a heart attack or basically have any sort of medical emergency.

This is why people stay agitated about health care. Because they don't understand that there is no such thing as "fixing" it. Not without giving something up. Availability, quality, SOMETHING.

There's no such things as health care existing just like it does now, only being significantly cheaper. That's a fairy tale.

Whenever people laugh at "mind bottling" like it's a screw up I want to axe them if they've only been on the internet 5 minutes.

You seem well informed, maybe you can help me. I just noticed on my final paycheck before retirement that there's been this deduction on my check my entire working life of 52 years life called "Med". Do you know what that abbreviation is for ? Thanks in advance.

Well played. Guess you just paid in for nuthin' when it gets abolished. Thanks for playin'.

Medicare taxes from your paycheck fund the program, not a personal account. After working at least 40 quarters (around ten years), you qualify for premium-free Medicare Part A at age 65. If you've worked longer, you're fully entitled to Part A hospital coverage without monthly premiums. In essence, these taxes aren't savings but guarantee your Medicare benefits after years of contributions.

Going to be a lot of people out there when it gets abolished.

President Trump is the fixit President. He will give us a decent healthcare plan. He will dump Obamacare.

My healthcare (basically a stupid Medicare Advantage Plan) cost exploded in 2026.

President Trump is right about.........everything.

I do.

That means you paid for other people to be able to receive Medicare services.

Just like other people will pay for your Medicare services.
