Orange man bad is the only thing that matters to a ny jury.

The Chappelle Show’s bit on the R Kelly tape seems appropriate here.
“I won’t believe that tape without each of the girls holding up two forms of ID and Kelly’s grandmother present to identify him.”

But unlike you I have a good bit of jury experience.
I have a decent amount. It would be pretty unusual for a civil jury to come back with a really large monetary verdict that quickly.

Both of which will ultimately be revealed were actually Hunter Biden.
To be fair, the rape part is his daddy Joe with his sister

Someone give me the quick rundown of this case. Did this broad claim Trump raped her 30 years ago?

You are correct. Lakeboy has no idea what he's talking about.
ETA, to be clear, I'm not trying to suggest what THIS jury may be doing here.
Just speaking on experience and knowledge.

Not usually in a civil case when awarding large damages.
Its in a jurisdiction where you have to plead a dollar amount right?

If all it takes is a women telling a story about something that allegedly happened 20+ years ago with no other evidence such as a witness, video tape, police report soon after it occurred, etc… to render a man liable to pay monetary damages, then no man is safe in NY and all men should leave the state.

Lol. Wouldn't surprise me if the only question the jury asked was "what's trump worth?" and then just all agreed to use that number as the judgement.
Sadly, I'm only like 40% joking. I've genuinely no faith in juries from big blue areas.

I've seen it, but only when the jury was pissed off.

Do they have to?

No other reason to be in the state anyway.
Blind David Paterson changed the NY state tax laws years ago to where you count as a resident for tax purposes if you spend more than X days in the state within a calendar year.
Unless you have a definite need to be physically present in the state, I would avoid it like the fricking plague if I didn’t want to be considered a “resident” of multiple states simultaneously.

You can plead whatever dollar amount you want but my understanding is the jury can still decide on any amount they want to give.
They have to decide first on liability aka is this person civilly liable which would generally take time.
Then they would decide on damages, aka amounts, and there is usual several elements of damages to award.
That USUALLY takes time.
However, all juries are different. They could have walked in and said "Guilty", give her whatever she wants.
That isn't the norm though

Of course you are, every single possible anti-Trump tidbit causes your knee to jerk into convulsions.
Civil suits don't "prove" jack shite but I am sure you and others will jump at the opportunity to call Trump a "rapist".

So their plan is to make Trump come to court enough in NY so they can get his tax money.

In a criminal court, there should be no way to convict based solely on a lack of evidence. The bedrock of our court system is “innocent until proven guilty” and not vice versa.
In a civil court? More leeway but a total lack of evidence toward that verdict means an extremely high chance of being tossed on appeal.
