I love Carlson but vigorously disagree with him on this. Just like I love my granddaughter who has a few beliefs that i disagree with.
I won't shun Carlson because of a few disagreements - just as I won't shun my granddaughter.
Reason?? == because Carlson is authentic - he takes a stand regardless of the political label of the cause he supports or opposes.
I respect honesty above all else - I can accommodate differences in opinions - I cannot accommodate gross hypocrisy.
Dishonesty and bad faith are absolute no-go's for me.
I listen to Carlson to hear an honest discussion of a topic I am interested in. He has yet to convert me - but I do listen.

Red blooded Americans don’t want to “fight a war.” The truth is some enemies can’t be defeated in our current age. But we do have to “fight terror.” Time will tell if this strike results in a long term conflict. I pray that it doesn’t. But we did not go looking for terror. It came to us. And yes, we will fight.
Pretty much sums up my stance on foreign policy.
We did not ask for this shite - and we may have made some tactical mistakes in the past - and will probably make more tactical mistakes in the future = perhaps even a strategic mistake.
BUT - we didn't start this shite - and anyone who is upset about our efforts should remember the old adage "don't start no shite - won't be no shite.'
You start the shite, and we will finish the shite - now, we ain't perfect, but we will finish it to our satisfaction.
Don't like it??? ===== don't start no shite.

We killed this guy IN RESPONSE to something. We aren’t the instigator
So you're saying we had no choice, and were forced to retaliate?
Not true. We chose to kill a high ranking Iranian because of some pretty mild provocations by Iranian proxies and the death of one American.
We didn't HAVE to do that, and many people believe that it has brought us closer to another war.
If you are truly against war, you wouldn't want us to respond with airstrikes anytime someone kills an American overseas.
We all know the saying "if you want peace, prepare for war"
It should say, "if you want peace, prepare for war and leave the Middle East"
Or at least if we are going to be there we need to have thick skin when it comes to Iran. Unless of course you want war.
Or hell, maybe y'all are right and we can just keep playing whack a mole with Iranians and hope we scare them into submission.

So you're going with the administration is just straight up lying to us about Soleimani's efforts to coordinate near-term attacks on U.S. personnel and assets? Hard plans, not theoretical plans.

And...?
You kill an American and you're as good as dead as far as I'm concerned.

Mild? He's been involved with murders of American soldiers for years and he also led an attack on our Embassy.

What’s interesting is you leftists don’t believe in the deep state but want us to doubt the deep state.
It’s so confusing.
It’s so confusing.

What’s interesting is that you guys bark about the deep state but for some reason you trust this intelligence with zero skepticism. How?
Maybe because this has been corroborated for years by pretty much the entire world. It was common knowledge if you pay attention to open source military intel. Hell, the NYT knew this guy was bad news.
Don’t think because you haven’t heard of him the rest of the world hasn’t.

Your arguing against your own false premise.

Who do you trust?
There have been thousands of troops who came back in body bags or alive with missing limbs as a result of Iran's production of explosive charges. Soleimani claimed responsibility for designing those explosive devices.
Only a traitor would have sympathy for that clown or anyone who supported him.
