I think we can all support our pilots and other military personnel being able to come forward with sightings or near misses of UAP's without fear of ridicule. A lot of men have had extraordinary experiences, some have even been injured by these encounters and were ostracized or told to never speak of it. I'm glad at the very least that seems to be changing.

There is actually far more possibilities. As far as deception from our government to be used for future control...I hear that a lot on this board but hardly anybody gives a shite about this topic and while there has been some progress , most people still laugh about it. If this is a prelude or "grooming program" by those in power for some future control lever to be pulled ....its a piss poor one.
I've studied this topic for almost 40 years. I tend to believe many of the stories from guys in the military that encountered this phenomenon. I dont think our government really knows what to do about it and that scares them. So they have been burying it/ ignoring it as much as possible for 70 years. We now have tech that detects them and its gotten to the point where they cant simply ignore it.

The term 'flying saucer' was used back in the 40's ,when I believe the first objects seen over Mt. Rainer were described as such. There's also been cigar shaped objects as well. Then there's the Phoenix Lights, from the late 90's, where a massive slow moving triangular shaped object was seen by thousands.
Actor Kurt Russell even called in the lights, while flying his private plane, but didn't even think about it for many years later.
I've no doubt that some experimental craft in Area 51 can explain away some odd sightings, but not all. Not by a long shot.

Apparently the tic tacs traveled 60 miles in 5 seconds when the f18 pilot tried to close in on it.
I am not aware of any drone that can travel 40k+ miles an hour.

The squadron of tic-tac objects off the coast of CA was seen by many in the AC group. On board, via ship radar and pilots in the sky. Plus there's the submerged object the tic tacs were hovering around until our aircraft tried to get a closer look.

I am getting around to the audio version of this kabuki theater hearing. There are so many stories and lore about ufo’s over the years that completely fall apart under scrutiny. Very few of them are true. You are way off base. This topic is one of the most important topics there is. All those other problems people reference? Gone in the blink of an eye if they disclose the tech.
The UFOs are ours. The technology behind it can revolutionize the world overnight.
That being said, I don't have very high hopes for this hearing. I figure we will get the tech when we can justify bringing them out of the hangers and using them due to national security reasons. And I feel that day may be coming soon.

I too would like some real physical evidence. But I’m of the opinion it’s something (not weather balloons, swamp gas, Venus reflecting off of the atmosphere, etc..). And I think any hoacmx is well beyond our or any other government black ops.
