Does anyone in here know any able bodied working age person who can't find work right now?

I still see now hiring signs everywhere in Texas.

It’s quasi true (not that you can really trust the stats the national agencies are publishing now after Covid and their never highlighted recomputed numbers after the fact)

1st - as someone else posted it people taking on second jobs to make ends meet. On the whole the newly created jobs are not the quality of the ones lost at Windows, Amazon etc….
2nd - the whole goal of increase the FOMC rates is to cause unemployment and take money out of the market. Now this signals we more rate increase in the future.

Doesn't count people who aren't actively looking for jobs. Pimping the stats what's new in this admin.

Does it track people looking for work, or just those receiving benefits? A lot of people out of work maxed out their unemployment benefits during the height of COVID; and since they are no longer eligible, they don't have to report to their local UE office.

The government has about half a dozen unemployment rates but only one is referenced in headlines. They also have a household survey in that same monthly report. The media then can spin everything as bullish by focusing on single data points that confirms their narrative.

The latest headline report printed half a million adds because of population adjustments from new census data.

Do you currently work? Have you personally witnessed the workforce yourself in your own experience?

It's a fricking disaster. If you actually believe that unemployment rate, you're just as delusional as the idiots who blindly accept everything CNN and MSNBC force down their throats.

isn't that just reflective of those seeking jobs but unable to get them...is there a metric that tracks Americans not looking for jobs at all?

Consider that people need two jobs to pay for the insane rate of inflation

I have recruiters reach out to me almost weekly essentially telling me they are having "trouble" filling positions for clients.

When I tell them what I need to make (based on real inflation not the bullshite Biden says), they tell me that's about in line with what other candidates are seeking... then I never hear from them again.

Employers are short staffed, but want to pay pre-covid salaries.

Laughing as I read this. Knowing that the taxes IP are helping, take care of the other 5 to 6% that are permanently unemployed.

I bet that number is much higher now. One of the many things COVID did, by design, was destroy the record number of people in the labor force at the time.

Remember the Democrats and media members hoping something bad would happen to the economy so it would hurt Trump? I remember it very well. They knew the economy was setting records and they hated it. Set back their plan to put the majority of the country on the tit. Well, now we are back to where we were pre-Covid. So, in order to lie, this is the spin we get from the bought-and-paid-for media that is owned by China.

Oh boy. So the government has what percentage of influence over labor participation in your opinion?

A low unemployment rate really seems to upset people around here.

Weird.

Imagine being so brainwashed that you reject the real world around you to cling desperately to the false narrative peddled by right wing propaganda.

Facts man.

When Trump did this "he's the best president ever, of course it's to be believed" ... Funny how that works
