There are few reasons why a country would cross the globe to invade another country.
They all have to do with financial gain or real estate that will guarantee financial gain in the future.
1000%.
It's any one of the following or combination:
Money
Power
Resources
Kindness and goodness died a long time ago. Folks need to start accepting this.

What this the reason to go to war with Iran?
quote:
1. The mullahs are evil. 2. The regime allegedly killed tens of thousands of its own citizens this year. 3. Payback for holding Americans hostage back in the day. 4. Payback for all the American troops who were killed by Iraqi militias who were financed and control by the Islamic regime in Iran. 5. Iran continues to try and develop a nuclear weapon. 6. A pro-America regimen in Tehran would give the USA lots of leverage when dealing with Chyna in the future thanks to the ability to put the squeeze on their oil supply.
You boomers are so laughably stupid. We’ve had war in the Middle East for the last two decades and you still can’t seem to figure out why.
I’ll give you the one and ONLY reason we are being forced to go to war with Iran:
Israel.

A war with Iran is not winnable. The terrain is difficult, too many combatants, and they are armed to the teeth. Sure we can kill their leadership easily, but you cant kill the ideology like that.
The hope that the Iranian people will "rise up" and fight the Islamists once we attack is just wishful thinking . The population willing to do that is very tiny...the country is 99% Muslim and all of the weapons are in the hands of the fanatics anyways.
This has 'forever war' written all over it and we absolutely should not involved in Israel 's war. Let them deal with it

The Trump administration is closer to a major war in the Middle East than most Americans realize. It could begin very soon.
Why it matters: A U.S. military operation in Iran would likely be a massive, weeks-long campaign that would look more like full-fledged war than last month's pinpoint operation in Venezuela, sources say.
The sources noted it would likely be a joint U.S.-Israeli campaign that's much broader in scope — and more existential for the regime — than the Israeli-led 12-day war last June, which the U.S. eventually joined to take out Iran's underground nuclear facilities.
Such a war would have a dramatic influence on the entire region and major implications for the remaining three years of the Trump presidency.
With the attention of Congress and the public otherwise occupied, there is little public debate about what could be the most consequential U.S. military intervention in the Middle East in at least a decade.
Breaking it down: Trump came close to striking Iran in early January over the killing of thousands of protesters by the regime.
But when the window of opportunity passed, the administration shifted to a two-track approach: nuclear talks paired with a massive military build-up.
By delaying and bringing so much force to bear, Trump has raised expectations for what an operation will look like if a deal can't be reached.
And right now, a deal does not look likely.

Between the lines: The standoff with Iran has gone on so long that many Americans are likely numb to it. War could come sooner, and be much bigger, than most recognize, sources say.

Iraq just happened and we discuss doing it again.

Are we trying to nation build here and “spread democracy” or just drop some bombs for whatever reason and get out? Because if it’s the former there are going to be casualties.
