That what I think... but of course that is speculative...
I think we know who the current regime is. They have been consistent in their mode of operating since they overthrew the Shah. While I don't want "war" with Iran it is catastrophically ignorant to think we can just bow out and let them develop nuclear capabilities that could reach the US. Their history supporting and involvement with shite stirring in an already messy region and their alignment with other players (China / Russia) is the reason for my perspective on this.
With the level of unrest (thats putting it mildly) within Iran and the status of things regionally (Arab Nations generally content to live peaceably with their neighbors..) this is a unique moment/opportunity for decisive military action...
It would be nice if we could work it out diplomatically. POTUS is right that would require Iran to say the magic words "We never want to have nuclear weapons" as well as other concessions. Iran has not agreed to even consider those concessions. Their proposal to stop enrichment for 7 years is just a ploy to buy time until a POTUS that they believe is weaker or less caring in office. It is looking more and more like the only way to resolve this in our favor is for the take out the regime and hope the son of the Shah or someone else who is favorable to our interests can come to power.

Anything less than killing the Ayatollah will be a failure. IF you commit to this bullshite you damn sure better have his head on a stick.

We absolutely would go to war with China over Taiwan
Like I said, I may be wrong, but if you're correct it begs the question of why so many Americans (including politicians and judges) are adamantly opposed to Trump's targeted tariffs. Because if we don't greatly reduce our dependence on imports of critical goods and materials and ramp up onshore production, the shite will hit the fan on day one.

Apparently today's meeting did not go great. We will see what comes next.

If anything happens tonight it won't be for another 3-4 hours probably

Agree. For 3 weeks it's been
"Israel: Prepare morgues for bodies" so I just disregard that stuff at this point in terms of tea leaves.

Yeah, because they have a shortage of radical clerics over there. I'm sure no one would take his place immediately.

Like this?
quote:
Iran reaffirms that under no circumstances will Iran ever seek, develop or acquire any nuclear weapons.

Oh, so you take the religious zealots at their word even when they enrich well beyond the levels they need.
