This. The right move is to let Pahlavi come in. And let him know who helped him get there, and that he better do right by his people and do right by the U.S.

Why does anyone think that won’t be the case?
There are millions of Iranians who support the regime and/or would oppose Western involvement even if they support removing the mullahs.

Stop pretending like you're an expert on these matters. Everyone can see the more you try that you're not
You sound scared

Why care about anyone? I think there is a good chance they will have have a better relationship with the west should they succeed.

No, in fact I oppose decapitation precisely because I don’t want that. But it’s the only outcome if that’s the route we take.
I’m just waiting for you to give me one reason not to believe that. You certainly can’t point to any examples so tell me why Iran is uniquely situated to transform overnight into a utopia of western democracy?

And if you oppose regime change you are clearly not aware of the atrocities that have happened and are happening now in addition to how this is in our interests to the MAX playa
Our involvement and support is the definition of America First

I’m just asking you to give me one reason why this would be any different than any other similar forced upheavals in the past 100 years or so—anywhere on earth. Oh, and Iran isn’t in the Middle East.

Sure I support regime change. But it’s not our regime to change. We really, really suck at that and I’m sick of wasting blood and treasure trying. We have one success story in that realm and that’s the Japanese. Surely you aren’t suggesting we militarily break Iran’s society, destroy everything, and then occupy them for a decade plus to rebuild them in our image?

See bro you keep harkening back to prior wars. You don't have an understanding of the region and are lumping all the people there into one group.
That by itself shows your lack of geopolitical understanding
Because this a totally different animal and this one is less savage and more civilized and ANCIENT

Please enlighten me. Why is Iran different? Afghanistan is a failed civilization. I’m not even referencing that.
Iraq was a botched operation from the jump and excluding the Baathists entirely.
But this isn’t a middle eastern or Muslim or particularly Asian issue for us. We suck at this everywhere, and so does everyone else in modern history.
Outside forces are not going to successfully force a nation as large, diverse, and relatively powerful as Iran to just suddenly embrace the west or its political philosophies.
You aren’t even trying to argue otherwise. I’m not claiming to be an expert. I’m saying all evidence says it will go exactly like all other enormous political revolutions have gone in modern history—which is years of war, upheaval, violence, and instability, with a sprinkling of huge amounts of wasted money from outside states.
Why shouldn’t I believe that? What do you know that I don’t?

So you know a small number of people who live in the west or worked with western companies. Cool.
Once again, my point does not rely on the region, nationality, or group of people involved. Political revolution at the level you are espousing in a nation/society the size of Iran (and truly even much smaller states) universally results in years of chaos and violence to the benefit of no one. Where am I wrong? I’m not wrong because you know people whose parents fled in 1979.
Your only argument so far is “trust me, bro”
