The Nice, France attack took place about a year before Charlottesville so its asinine to say the Barcelona attacker was copying that. That's a huge stretch by Blitzer.

No it is not. My wife majored at LSU in advertising. She knows about all this stuff. It is EXACTLY what is going on. There are rules and training on how to present stuff in the news and now-a-days they break all of those rules to sway how people think.
