And even in the easier majors, a lot of them frick off because they know that the administration is too scared to flunk them out.

Had at least one idiot behind me brag to her friends about how she got a 0.0 the previous semester, which was an automatic suspension at our school, but had her momma throw the race card around until they relented and let her enroll for the next semester.

Also had a different idiot frick off in the capstone class for a presentation in which they did no work other than be handed a script which they fricked up because they couldn’t understand it. Howard Schultz FOUNDED Starbucks in 19XX, he didn’t FIND it, you dumb bitch. I had other classes with her group partners and they talked about how lazy and worthless she was on it.

The email doesn't give any stats. But when the nurse draws your blood and sends it to the lab I don't think it's labeled: 'black guy's blood.' The testing is pretty much the same for everyone.

No it doesn't say "black guys blood" but race does have an affect on results of blood test.

It's not right or wrong, just medical science..

Side note, all of the phlebotomist where I work are black.

Well, the email was sent to all lab techs. I guess the problem is that only black pathologists can analyze black blood.

Do they think that Italian blood needs to be treated differently because of the high quotient of olive oil in it?

Hmmm. Those are phlebotomist and only require a HS education. Technicians are 2 year degrees and medical technologists are a 4 year degree and is very difficult. The technologist do the complex work in the lab while the technicians do the more mundane. And the OP is correct, there are very few black. Technologist, but there are some. A difficult field and one to avoid at all costs

I’m sure that a bunch of people want to do certain jobs.

Want to get the proper educational training to do so? Less so.

It's like these people never think that.. maybe someone doesn't want to do something, regardless of color. People that work hard are able to support themselves and achieve things in life. Awarding scholarships based on color seems, I don't know... prejudice.

NO sir re. They are techs trained mostly locally and their job is to draw blood to take to the lab.

Locally there are many Black people in the lab work as well.

We should require that all College athletes with a scholarship be trained exclusively to enter the pathology and laboratory medicine workforce.

We can't let selfish motives like their own personal preferences interfere with our desired arbitrary outcomes.

False equivalency so gfy?

But pipelines are bad no?

Just take a little off the "School to Prison Pipeline" and that should do it right? Infrastructure already in place too.

Eh?

Unfortunately to most people anyone that works in a hospital or medical office wearing scrubs that is not a Dr. is a “nurse”.

Phlebotomist would be the person most likely drawing blood.

I didn't realize that. The two terms for 'tech' could be confusing. My wife just says 'I'm in the chemistry lab'.

But that can't be. Race is just a social construct.
