Man..you need to get out and meet your neighbors. Mississippi and the rest of rural America isn’t New Zealand, come on, you can’t be serious. Will work out well for Beto starting in the inner cities as well.

I'd rather walk naked, at 2am, showing off my lily white arse, in Ensley, Alabama than trespass on some dude that lives in Beat 10, Walker County, Alabama.

I’ve worked on some protocols with local, state and federal LEOs. I’ve met some wonderful people in the process and am thankful for what they do.
That said, if it comes down to feeding their family versus you having your guns, they are gonna, by in large, feed their families.
Moreover, the supposed resistance by baws with ARs is vastly overstated IMO. Many would hide their guns but almost none would actually engage in a gun fight...especially with their family around.

Exactly..and these people aren’t looking for a fight or to be some Rambo character..but they are not going to go round up their guns and hand them to some guy telling them they have to turn them in for any amount of money. It truly goes against a law abiding grown man’s DNA and morals. This is ridiculous to even discuss..Wolverine baw

What about LEO's going in to take other LEO's private guns?

If you are in the MS delta you are nuts. These local law enforcement types you speak of would have known their fellow citizens for years, gone to school with them, gone to the same churches and married their kids, no way this would be enforceable, but keep wishing I guess. BTW, what would this accomplish?

It would be all out war outside of the cities in the Southern United States.
The quickest way for Fedgov to de-stabilize the South is to stop sending checks.

Get real.
When the shite hits the fan, these LEOs and "first responders" will be busy protecting the most exclusive people in their communities. And gladly doing so.
To hell with everyone else.

How and why would shite hit the fan? Why would they have to protect anybody?

I agree wholeheartedly. The big talk will dissipate when/if the bullets start to fly.

What would be accomplished by taking AR’s from rural folk who have never committed a crime?

And don't think for a second they won't do it, especially if they are incentivized to seize and keep other assets from the targets like they do with drug raids.
They'd quickly become disincentivized once a few get their body armor punched by a few full-power service rifle rounds. There are a few state troopers and local pd guys in my Army unit and they won't be going door to door because of some LWNJ's gun-control law.

You have to fill that form out in detail, listing the exact gun, down to the serial #, for every FFL purchase you make. They have to submit it to the feds each time, in addition to keeping the books themselves.
The books are for state benefits as much as anything, but I've little doubt the NSA, at least, has the whole thing. They just don't use it openly.
If we had a national law pushed into effect, I suspect that would change.

Maybe he should take the guns from the liberals first since they commit 90% of all gun crimes.

I think you may be extrapolating that LEO's are willing to do this based on some Northern/Western agencies that are beset with cronyism.
I know and have worked very closely with quite a few local, county, state and federal law enforcement - including recent presidential protective details - from other parts of the country, particularly Southern, where the cops are both pro 2A and have absolutely no problem refusing to enforce a law they know is damn well unConstitutional.
Just thought you'd like to know that it's not nearly as cut-n-dried as you imagine. The majority are not willing to be jackbooted thugs...
Especially when you consider that the average large city has a ratio of about 1 sworn officer (thus entitled to carry a firearm) per around every 160-200 citizens, as a general range.
That's really shitty odds. They are very aware of that.

You are trying to use logic to answer illogical pathology
