I use the New Living Translation and, on occasion, The Living Bible.

NIV NLT. I'm really liking my "Every Man's Bible". It's NLT

Douay–Rheims Bible

However I frequently reference many other versions to understand other translations.

That is what our pastor uses so it is easy to keep up.

Although I've been told it's not as accurate as others, like Hunter Thompson, I prefer the King James version, because of the power of the language.

I prefer KJV simply because I am more familiar with it since I grew up using KJV. NKJV is also similar and very good in that respect. ESV and American Standard are also good translations. For my current studies in the New Testament I like to use KJV with the Koine Greek in the margins.

Yeah, I though I was in OT when I started the thread. I think I'm going to switch to the NASB or NKJ to get a translation closer to the original Greek and Hebrew.

I usually use the New American Standard Bible.
Working with teenagers, I will also use the NIRV, the new international readers version.
The NIRV is not as poetic, but is simplified language which young people, and me sometimes, appreciate.
